I can highly recommend Oakhurst Hotel in George. It is maintained to excellent standards, the rooms are clean, well appointed and comfortable and the staff are extremely helfpul. It is also tastefuly decorated and is truly excellent.

Booked a deluxe room on the first floor. High rooms with thatch roof, visible AND smell-able: a pretty bad moldy smell. I had myself downgraded to a standard room (ground floor) for the same price. Helpful staff, cozy roms, hot showers, deligthful village-inn style pub, excellent breakfast. Be warned that the dining room is not open for supper on Friday nights and over the weekend.
