We arrived at the Amanzi Lodge only to be blown away by the gorgeous home, stunning views and magnificent staff. Odette was so helpful in assisting us with everything we needed from delicious coffee to great restaurant recommendations. Absolutely visit the Amanzi Lodge for a peaceful, luxurious getaway.

Great location and great views. The breakfast, well we're not one for spoilers so you'll just have to find that one out for yourself - you won't be Dissapointed!!! Very friendly staff. Helen and her mum are very helpful and lovely.

Friendly staff, amazing views, beach a stones throw away, drinking cold beers while watching the tide come in a must do. Loved that we were close to knysna central...but not too close. Great all round experience...will definitely be back

We stayed in in Knysna for the first time. A friend of ours recommended Amanzi Lodge and we can only thank them because this was the very best advice we could have been given. Margret and Helen made our stay most pleasant. Recommendations for dinner or lunch were perfect and they also made the reservations for us. Having breakfast on... More

This is a perfect place to stay in every way, fabulous setting on the lagoon, friendly and relaxed owners who provide gorgeous breakfast, wonderfully comfortable rooms and a seemingly personal attention.

Stayed here early April 2013 for a night and had a great time. Helen and Sue were very welcoming. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast was really good too! Walks with MOJO on the island were ace! Apart from staying with my parents in PE this was the best value for money on our trip through SA! Thanks... More

Ha ha!! - We're not sure who enjoyed the island walks more - you or Mojo! She's been giving us the "poor me eyes" ever since ;) So glad that you enjoyed your whistle stop stay in Knysna and hope you both had an absolutely blast during the last leg of your SA holiday! More

We've now stayed in quite a few guest houses during our four month trip around the Southern Hemisphere. Amanzi is up there with the very best. Some of that is about the spacious, well-furnished and equipped room; the warm lounge with its deep sofas and log fire; the splendid breakfast in which a cooked element complements an extensive buffet; the... Wowza!! High praise from seasoned travelers :) Thank you. And meeting you served as a huge inspiration - mum is now planning her "grey nomad" adventure much in the same vein!! Well here's hoping that of all the places you've visited that Knysna will be one of ones that you'll return too. Bon voyage! More

We had a family gathering in Knysna this past weekend. My wife and I, my brother and sister stayed with Sue and Helen at Amanzi fo four nights. It's brilliant. The rooms are exquisite, the views unbeatable and Sue and Helen extremely friendly and helpful. Walking around Leisure Isle is great and off-season, very quiet and tranquil. We are regular... More

We absolutely loved having you all at the lodge for your mini-reunion! It's a wonderful pat on the back when regular Knysna visitors chose Amanzi as their new base, and we look forward to seeing you all again :) All the best! More

There is a saying that I love - Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away... That is Amanzi for me, it leaves me breathless.. You couldn't wish for anything more, from the moment you arrive you feel welcome, excellent service, beautiful rooms, comfortable beds and majestic views.... More

I said this in a previous response, but it bears repeating - There are still moments when I catch myself gobsmacked! Knysna, the guests, the staff, the lodge - it all continues to take my breath away to this day :) And the magic in the air is infectious! Thank you for your lovely review. It sounds as though you... My review is long overdue, so may not reflect the current owners who are "back", as i've read from browsing recent posts. As such, in spite of the negative points below, i've still given a positive rating, since they mostly pertain to the staff who seem to be no longer there? (and my experience seems consistent with another review from... More

As the team who started Amanzi and worked so hard to make it what it is today, it's obviously very upsetting to read a review like this. Cathy and Simon had taken over so that we could have a desperately needed break, but unfortunately under their management things began to slip. We realised that the guesthouse was in a sharp...
