Very beautiful guest house, extremely clean and comfortable. The location is absolutely 'wow' and the place makes you feel like royalty. We are strict vegetarians the staff went out of their way to ensure we have sufficient, simple yet very tasty food to eat. Small touches made our stay beyond comfortable and the smiling faces of the staff was a... More

Situated in a rural setting near the Klein Karoo town of Oudtshoorn, in a historical homestead overlooking the Swartberg mountains. On a working ostrich farm and a stargazer's delight. Attention to detail and excellant service at times.

This B&B offers a lovely combination of Victorian opulence and modern amenities, in a rural setting 15 mins drive from Oudtshoorn. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely outlook onto open countryside. Service was friendly and helpful but unobtrusive. The varied and plentiful breakfast is served in the beautifully furnished dining room. One night during our stay we... More

The guest house, entirely in Victorian style, is a little bit outside the town center (10-15 minutes) but very elegant. At times we felt it was a bit 'too much' (a little bit too upscale) but it gave the place something special. That our rental car was washed the following morning was a nice bonus!

We spent two nights here and our room which was attached to the main house was large. We were given a complimentary drink on our arrival which was a nice touch. We had a tour round by the owner in the morning which was well worth the extra cost and discovered there was a lot to learn about ostrich farming.... More

A beautiful setting; colonial elegance on a working ostrich farm. The grounds were well-maintained and inviting, especially the pool. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Our room was clean and extremely comfortable with a large well-appointed bathroom, bedroom and separate lounge area. Outdoor seating area was small and not especially private but adequate for our needs. Once again, as with other guesthouses, complimentary... More

Fell in love with this guest house and wished we had being staying longer. The accommodation was superb as was the restaurant and communal areas. Food good and excellent staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Felt totally comfortable there.

We did wonder what awaited us, as it is a little off the beaten track, but from the moment we arrived and were greeted warmly, shown our apartment and given a complimentary drink by the vivacious Corlou, we enjoyed the warmth and elegance of La Plume. It was almost like going back in time. We had driven quite a distance... More

Great position on the Garden Route journey. Quiet with beautiful views. After travelling five hours from CT we eat in the Hotel. The meal was OK but it would have been better to drive into the local town (as we discovered the following evening). Rooms are very interesting, comfortable and have everything that the traveler needs. It looked to us... More

La Plume is a beautiful guest house run by Bartel and his family. The accommodation is lovely and I believe each room is unique. The food in the restaurant was probably the best I had in my whole trip to South Africa. The Ostrich Steak was absolutely delicious. My only regret is that I only stayed one night on my... More
