On our drive to Fairy Glen our guide Heidi Whites from Ukholo Travels and Tours told us about the white rhinos Higgins and Lady, who we would see on our safari drive the next day. The rhinos had been pouched in December 2011, and they were two of the few known rhinos who have survived such a brutal attack. Now,... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay for two nights in one of the chalets, apart from the storm on the first night and the power cuts. Pack a torch when you go as it is extremely dark when the power goes out. Deon our Ranger was amazing, he made our stay exceptional. The nature walk to the dam on the first... More

My Dad, my brother and I were here for an over night stay in February and we could not have been happier. We paid €165 a head and that included a guided walk around the immediate area the night of arrival, a lovely as much as you could eat buffet dinner, buffet breakfast, the guided safari with Chantelle (who was... We visit Fairy Glen last weekend, and wow i must say this place beautiful and a real jewel in the Western Cape. Not far from Cape Town, me and my friends from overseas decided to visit. Not only a warm welcome and pleasant chalet, but with an Safari atmosfere to the lodge did we think wow here we going to... More

We were driving the garden route and had a day (and night) at Fairy Glen. We had a great time getting up close and learning more about the animals. All of the rangers were friendly and very passionate over their work. The story of the rhinos was extremely poignant and one I will never forget. The buffet dinner was very... More

Fairy Glen resort is located in an absolutely beautiful part of South Africa. Rugged mountains and beautiful valleys surround you there. It is important to be aware of a few things before you book. The resort itself is nice and they have done well to maintain an African flavour. The meals were excellent. Like us, most people probably go based... More

We went on an afternoon safari that cost approx £140 pp incl lunch. Lunch was ok, but it was ridiculous that they charged the drinks seperately. The Safari was nice and entertaining incl lions, rhinos, zebras, gnus, bonteboks and a few other animals. They drove us around for 2,5hours. The Information about the animals was good, though it was very... More

After an 11 hour overnight flight we did not want to go into Cape Town or travel too far on the first day. Just over an hour's drive from Cape Town airport this seemed like a good stop-over with a bit of an African experience, before heading off along the Garden Route. From other reviews we had set our expectations... More

Because of the high price (unfortunately we had to pay in advance), we expected a nice and clean chalet. The chalet was renovated in 1970 and looked like it was never maintained since then. Old poor and broken stuff was in it. There were hairs of someone else on our pillows, the sheets were not white anymore but yellow and... More
