Stayed here as a family with two kids under 11. Borba in itself is a bit disappointing, a few churches and convents that could be worth seeing if they had been open at anytime during the day (midweek). Owners of Terreiro do Paço are friendly, even if a bit too eager to tell us what to do at all times.... More

I stayed here in June 2011 for four nights. I have never experienced a better service in any hotel I have stayed in earlier. Juan and Rita were helpsome and superfriendly., they could recommend restaurants and places to see in any of the nearby cities and also in Lisbon and Cascais where we were going after our stay in Alantejo.... The room was clean, although in the moment we stepped in, the smell of moist kicked in. The gardens, inhabited by some weird marble figures, weren't well kept. The location was central, but without a single parking space, and the street was so narrow that we had to park in the sidewalk, and hoped the car survived the imminent scratching.... More

Was a very nice stay with very nice owners. Quiet, relaxed and with style. Breakfast was also amazing. ANYTIME AGAIN!

Hello Rita and Joa, we had a wonderful time in your guesthouse and enjoyed every minute staying in your house! The atmosphere, the kindness, the garden, the breakfast, it seemed as we were taking part of a fairy tale! We come back, enjoy the next months and please, keep some extra sun for the time we return! My friend and I stayed at this super fantastic hotel for 3 nights. We had planned to stay for two nights, but it was such a nice place we stayed longer. I can't say enough good things about our experience there. Beautiful, relaxing, comfortable, quiet, nice pool, delicious breakfasts. But best of all, the friendly and helpful owners Joao and... More

My wife and I enjoyed 6 nights at the Casa as part of our honeymoon. We were looking for a relaxing break away from the bustle of city life; this was perfect. Joao is an excellent host, keen to ensure all guests are enjoying their visit. During our stay he advised on places to eat, lent us a guide book... More

We just came back from our honeymoon in Portugal which included a 3 night stay at Casa do Terreiro do Poco. I can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was. The owner, Joao, and his wife were fantastic hosts. He promptly replied to my many emails and gave excellent directions on how to arrive by car from Lisbon. The... More

We had a great time at this hotel, although the weather was on the wet and cold side, the rooms were warm and comfortable. The owners made our party of eight (age range 7 to 53) so welcome, and helped to arrange a wine tour and even took us on Tasca tour where we were able to sample local wine... More

Casa do Terreiro do Poço is great. We spent a wonderful three days there last week. We found no flaws. The location (in the centre of Borba), the rooms (full of charm) , the quietness (enjoy the silence), the breakfast (more than you can eat): everything is great.
