Stayed for 3 nights. No sight of the English owner. Other staff quite friendly and helpful. Shared room bathrooms were clean but the room was a little musty. The private room was slightly better, though the lock wasn't very secure. The bed in the twin room was comfortable, not so much in the private one.

Great location, friendly staff. No heating in our room so we were cooooold! Bathrooms a bit dirty and in poor state of repair, but at least the showers are hot. Small kitchen made self-catering a bit tricky.

The positives: excellent location, price, good service. The negatives: kitchen had cockroaches, bathrooms need deep cleaning. Tips: WIFI is good in the closest rooms to the reception. The shared bath private rooms are much nicer than the private room with private bath. Small and quite.

This place is not good. The building is falling apart, the bathrooms are old and haven't been cleaned properly in some time (I think they wipe them down everyday, but they really need to tackle the limescale and use some bleach). Thanks to this hostel, I enjoyed staying at Salta. It's very near from the PLAZA.

Positives - great location, very friendly staff who have some English. Breakfast included. Free internet and Wi-Fi. Free book exchange. Plenty of bathrooms and free luggage storage. Drawbacks - rooms are basic and on the small side.
