I recently graduated from law school and had my party at The San Carlos. I also had family in from out of town who stayed at the hotel. We had an amazing experience. The staff at the hotel are attentive, caring, and generous people who really work hard to create a wonderful experience. The room we had my party in... More

Stayed at San Carlos during a wonderful show in the Ghost Lounge. The room, though small was comfortable and clean - and it was across from the Marilyn Monroe Room and the exit to the great, private pool area. Samantha Childs did everything possible to get me what I needed in a room; and she did it amazingly fast! The... More

It was our pleasure to make your stay enjoyable! Thank you so much for staying with us! Back in the day, Marilyn Monroe, chose to stay in the last room on the third floor for the same reason that the room was the closest room to the pool. But the main reason of her selecting our hotel was because the... More

My friends are coming to town in July and I was researching hotels in Downtown Phoenix area. I stopped at Hotel San Carlos to check the lobby, restaurants and room accomodations. The General Manager happened to be around the front desk and happily offered to give me a tour. She told me about rich history of this amazing hotel. It... More

Dear Jean, Thank you so much for choosing the Historic Hotel San Carlos for your friends accommodations. As you know, summer is warm in Arizona however; our roof top pool is the place to stay cool. Best wishes, Angela Hentz More

Easy to reach from the airport using the complimentary shuttle to the light rail, with a light rail station just one block north. Lovely lobby, period piece. I was quite excited by its appearance, and looking forward to my stay. But the small-sized room, although clean, was not up-to-date. No electric outlet near the desk made using the computer to... Stayed at the Hotel San Carlos with a group to see the NCAA Tournament. It's a nicet little hotel right downtown, next to the light rail. Great location within walking distance of the USAirways Arena and Chase Field with plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. It's an old hotel, but they've done a good job of keeping it... More

I love character hotels, and rate some older hotels as my very favorites. But the San Carlos is just dingy and inadequate. The rooms look like a place you check in to kill yourself (maybe that's why the windows don't open): drab, featureless, and slighltly dirty. Cracked tiles throughout the tiny bathroom. No room service, no restaurant really on site... More

I was visiting Phoenix with 2 friends and found the Hotel San Carlos through a popular online booking site. I was originally pleased when I called the hotel to see if they offered any additional discounts from the online source and they knocked ~$20 off the per night price. The rating was 3.5 stars so we opted to book 3... More

I was attending a conference and this was one of the hotels on our list. From the outside the hotel looks charming but then rooms left a lot to be desired. The rooms are small.
