This is not your typical hostel. There are only 2 dorms and 1 private room, making for a very homey atmosphere, which I think is something most travelers will appreciate. Things don't get crowded but still very social: you can easily meet and chat with other people staying at the hostel in the common living/dining room and also outdoors. I... More

This hostel is a lot like staying at a good friend's house who happens to have a firepit, unlimited snacks, and keeps a calendar of interesting things to do in their city. Granite countertops, clean bathroom, helpful books, and a mini office center are also present. This is a an "unhostel" in that it has no hostel smell, there is... More

Clean, modern, welcoming, all mod-cons and amenities, friendly owner and great staff: you could not ask for a better hostel. The hostel is under a year old, which is why it looks so good and fresh. A great outdoor table area to chill out in the evenings, close to a Circle K convenience store and only a twenty minute walk... More

The Camel Backpackers Hostel is simply outstanding. The staff are gracious and amiable hosts, and the immaculate cleanliness of the facilities contributes to the already comfortable and secure environment. I would choose this hostel again over any hotel/motel without a doubt!

I spent 2 nights at Camel Hostel during my San Diego to St Augustine, FL, solo bike ride (Adventure Cycling's "Southern Tier" route). Of the 7 hostels in which I have stayed during the past year (the others being HI affiliates), this ranks as my favorite, along with Pt Loma in San Diego. The hostel is owned by Amber and... More

My plan was to just stay at the Camel Backpackers Hostel one night, or possibly two, but the owner Amber and her partner Colin, and staff are so welcoming that I have spent nearly two weeks here including my second visit. It is extremely clean, comfortable matresses, and it made me feel like cooking since the kitchen is so nice... More

I am a young female traveller who was just passing through Phoenix to check out the city, I booked one night at Camel Backpackers and ended up staying over two weeks and not wanting to leave. Not only is the hostel meticulously clean and well kept but the people you meet (including staff) are lovely, welcoming and most of all... More

Despite the info desk and Super Shuttle having no idea where and what Camel was about, the place itself is the epitome of relaxed, pleasant and friendly stay. If the idea of a small, very clean, accommodation appeals to you, then I wholeheartedly recommend Camel. I mean, the kitchen and bathrooms were just like being in someone's house. The staff... More

It's hostel was fantastic. My friend and I booked this without any reviews on a whim and it was excellent. It's small, but clean and in a good location. There are tvs, board games, sport equipment, a ping pong table, outside area and whatever cooking equipment you need. The dorm was nice and has a nice ensuite, reading lights, a... More
