I stayed three nights at Newa Chén. The rooms are lovely, the staff is very friendly and I enjoyed especially the great breakfast. The B&B is perfectly located near all the important sights in Patan. A little problem are all the mosquitos in the room. But the good one have a mosquito net. All in all it was a perfect... More

I reviewed this place in 2010 when I stayed here for 2 weeks and scored it 5 out of 5. I stayed here for 17 nights in February 2012 and nothing has changed. It is still a wonderful place to stay and still scores 5 out of 5. Thank you to the staff for your terrific hospitality.

A good friend of mine is originally from Nepal and she decided to have her wedding back in Nepal. She booked out the entire Newa Chen for friends arriving from all corners of the world and we all loved staying at this beautiful, historic hotel. While the ceilings are low, it just adds to the charm of this lovely place.... More

Such an excellent old building - though watch out if your taller than 5' - there's some low roofs in this place. Especially if you;ve had one too many Nepal Ice's and stumble your way to the toilet. Excellent bedrooms and a peaceful little garden out back. Much nicer and more peaceful than staying in Thamel!

Very cute place - felt historic. They have done a good job updating the old buildings without compromising the historic nature of the building. We only stayed one night because the weather was cold and there is no heat in the rooms.

Staying at Newa Chen was one of the highlights of our trip to Nepal. This is a truly historic home and the restoration has been lovingly done. Rooms and service were excellent. Morning breakfast was quite good. The inn's location is just minutes away from the historic districts of Patan. As far as we were concerned, this is the best... More

like much of the old style Nepalese construction, you gotta watch your head when going through doors - and in many rooms even standing up straight! i'm 6'5 (198 cm or so), and bumped my head a couple times, but its a small price to pay for a genuine Nepalese experience. Kathmandu's lodging options are pretty terrible unless you want... More

I stayed in this wonderful historical home for 5 nights (16th to 21st November 2011)Mr. Shrestha and all the staff, especially Rashita, were so kind and helpful. My room was on the second floor, the name of the room Kalas, large room with double bed and a sitting room overlooking the garden. Having problems with my knees they very kindly brought... More

it is a great traditional building. I wish i had the chance to stay for more days to enjoy it. In the heart of the historical Patan, just 2 minutes from Patan Durbar square you can find a peaceful and relaxed place. Worth for value....definitely!!! I' ve been there for my last day in Nepal. If i knew how beautiful... More

The Newa Chen family were kind enough to let us stay for 2 and a half months whilst working for an NGO in Lalitpur. In this time, we stayed in three of the eight rooms - each was wonderful. Each room varies in size, facilities and price making it a great place for a range of expenditures. The building offers... More
