Having never stayed at the Sandhouse, this review is for their Sunday lunch. Nobody could have any compaints about the location of the hotel as it sits on the fantastic Rossnowlagh beach. This is why, if you are booking to eat, you should request to sit in the conservatory at the back, so that you can take in the beach/sea... More

This was our third trip to the sandhouse in the last year and again everything was wonderful! It's so nice to see the owner involved in the daily running of the hotel &making sure meal times run smooth! The staff are extremely professional and polite &they really give you the feeling that nothing is too much to ask. The rooms... More

Stayed here for one night bed and breakfast at the end of April. We requested a sea view room which was provided and had wonderful views out over the beach. This is the only hotel we have stayed in where the receptionist actually takes you to your room personally. The room itself was a spacious double although there was a... More

First off, let me say we didn't have any problems with the hotel itself, or the staff (who were excellent) - just that it is way over-priced in my opinion. We stayed here in March - two nights with bed and breakfast which cost us €255. Fair enough you might say, but we were expecting better for that kind of... More

And we'd just come from Ashford Castle--which was lovely, of course, but overpriced. The Sandhouse Hotel is reasonable, comfortable, and in a wonderful location. We watched surfers from our windows. The restaurant and bar are very nice and the staff is absolutely lovely. We will be back. In fact, we will probably choose Donegal over other parts of the country... More

having stayed in the Sandhouse hotel last year we knew we were going to stay in it again and thats what we did on the 15th March for 2 nights DB/B. We were not disappointed. The staff as before were very friendly and had remembered us from our last visit. We were given our favourite room 253 which has stunning... More

We spent 2 lovely nights at the Sandhouse with our small dog over St Patrick’s weekend. It’s great to see a hotel that welcomes pets. The location is perfect for a getaway break – miles of beach, great for long walks, which our dog just loved. The residents bar is cosy, the restaurant food was lovely – menu choice, food... More

We are having a wonderful time in Ireland having booked with Journey Through Ireland who were so helpful to us with everything we needed to know. This is an amazing trip and this hotel offers some of the most breathtaking scenic views I have ever seen. It is in the perfect location and we are very pleased with it.

Called in for breakfast after a long run on a cold and wet morning. The hotel was just open and breakfast was over. Very nice plate of brown bread, toast, croissants and coffee at a very reasonable price. Well done - a homely spot.

We stayed here as we began our journey down the western seaboard. Very friendly atmosphere with wonderful, helpful staff. We were shown to our room which overlooked the ocean and had wonderful views of the wide expanse of beach that services the hotel. We had a few drinks in the beach bar and were delighted with the stories and the... More
