I had a wonderful time at Sigtunastiftelsen, a place that combines hospitality, culture, and learning in a beautiful setting. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the facilities were modern and well-equipped. The location was perfect for exploring the charming town of Sigtuna and its rich history. But the highlight of my stay was the breakfast buffet, prepared by the talented chef Maricar. She created a feast for the eyes and the palate, with a variety of dishes that catered to different tastes and dietary preferences. The presentation was exquisite, with colorful fruits, vegetables, cheeses, breads, and pastries arranged in artistic patterns. The flavors were delicious, with a mix of traditional Swedish and international cuisines. Maricar was also very friendly and attentive, making sure that everyone was satisfied and happy. She deserves a big applause for her amazing work. I highly recommend Sigtunastiftelsen to anyone who is looking for a relaxing and inspiring getaway. It is a place where you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a cozy and elegant hotel, and a vibrant and stimulating cultural center. Thank you, Sigtunastiftelsen, for a memorable experience!

Sigtunastiftelsen is a highly unique place: a gathering point for art, humanities, science, religion and music. Originally from 1915 it is still active. The foundation is financially supported by conference activities - so both the hotel and the restaurant is a vital part of survival. The restaurant provides all guests (conference members and "walk-ins") with an ample set of food and drinks during the day: breakfast, coffee, lunch, coffee, dinner. A small bar is also at hand and open generously. See my separate review of the restaurant under "Sigtunastiftelsens restaurang". Since the whole complex consists of several buildings, finding your way around may be a bit confusing at first. Stairs and corridors seems to go everywhere and nowhere. But this is part of the charm: t's far from a modern "box hotel". Lovely public areas where you can relax and being a "place of worship" there is also a small church/chapel adjoining the bar area (!). There is no luxury, but fine standard and lots and lots of charm and "personality". Rooms are simply furnished in an old days style. Beds quite ok. Bathrooms newly renovated to a high standard - complete with floor heating. No AC and no TV (but a radio is at hand). Wifi works fine throughout the buildings. Only problem I/we encountered was the effect of the ongoing energy crisis: very cold everywhere. Our conference room held 18.5 degrees celsius. Likewise in my room. In my opinion way too cold for long hours of conferencing. Staff is kind and helpful when needed. Being a bit off-road Sigtunastiftelsen provides "peace and calm". But is at the same time easy to reach since it is near the Stockholm airport Arlanda and an hour drive from Stockholm city. Sigtunastiftelsen is very well worth visiting!

Rooms were ok. Fairly small. Very hard bed, but if you like that, ok. Get the ones with Rose garden view with fountain lulling you to sleep. Nice "contemplation" rooms all over the place with comfortable seating. Good service. Good elevator for heavy luggage. Decent location. A 1/3 mile to downtown. Wonderful chapel with various instruments to play

This is very nice and quiet place to stay. It was originally a religious place for meditation, contemplation etc., but it has a very nice hotel part and a good restaurant. Rooms are nice and beds are comfortable. There is no minibar/fridge, nor is there any TV on the rooms. Shower is fine. Nice view from the rooms.

I was surprised that I was given a dirty room but was swiftly upgraded. The accommodation would benefit from an overhaul - it was obviously more spick and span than it is now. The restaurant was impressively good, both food and service, and conference care (snacks, tea and coffee etc) very impressive. Staff were all attentive, friendly and helpful

Once (1917) a "folkhögskola" (sort of "people's college") and a Christian foundation center for the young people's church revival movement, Sigtunastiftelsen is a conference facility with some special feeling and details. The foundation still keeps the library, the refuge (meditation chapel) and the chapel inside the main building. The chapel seamlessly opens up to a lounge and bar (!). The castle-like building has many angles and corners and even a tower. The facilities includes several buildings and all is adapted to conference needs. Public areas are a bit old and charming but renovated and up to date. Rooms are quite small but adequate with modern bathrooms. Comfortable beds. No TV in the room - instead a radio! Refreshing! You may well stay here as an ordinary hotel guest even if you're not conferencing. Onboard restaurant quite good, albeit not in a top notch class.

I stayed for one night ahead of my return trip from Sweden to the United States. It was a beautiful and very comfortable hotel right above the great little town of Sigtuna. You can walk into town in about two minutes but it's just above the town enough to be peaceful. The room was very comfortable, the breakfast was top notch and I loved the art and creative decor. The best part of the hotel though was the staff. When I arrived, they welcomed me so nicely and showed me to my room and answered any questions. During my stay, I also had an issue where I forget my bag in one of the restaurants and didn't realize it until after the restaurant closed. They were so great in doing all they could to help - trying to get in touch with the owner, providing me with a charger, and going to the next morning to grab my bag. Truly exceptional service! I hope to be able to stay at the hotel again next time I'm in the area!

I stayed for one night as it was close to Arlanda airport. The hotel is easy to find with google maps. There is plenty of parking. The room was simple and pleasant. I like rooms without TVs, so it suited me. The breakfast was very good indeed (try the homemade nypponsoppa/rosehip drink!) and included in the very reasonable price of the room.

Lovely room with 1917 style decor and no tv which was actually quite nice! The bathroom had been refurbished with hot shower and fluffy towels. We stayed 2 nights but didn’t eat in the restaurant. Breakfast was fresh fruit, cereal, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, bacon etc and what a selection of teas! The history of the hotel makes it a different stay - historical and restful but clever updating of the rooms. My husband loved the fact there were lots of sockets for his electronics - more than in a London hotel! Close to the centre but a long enough walk back to walk off your dinner if you eat out.
