We'd been in Wells before but stayed in a b&b elsewhere, if we ever go again though we’ll be sure to stay at The Old Customs House. We were made very welcome from the start. The house seems to be huge and is easily found and in a quiet location. Our room, which had a view of the river and... More

Two nights just wasn't long enough. The Old Custom House is perfect in so many ways - location, comfort, delicious breakfast, attentive and helpful host. The Captain's Quarters suited us down to the ground, and we particularly appreciated the two comfortable chairs (and footstools) at the end of a long day's walk.

Two adults, an eight year old boy, and a dog were welcomed at the Old Custom House in the downstairs room with its own entrance. Having a little kitchen as well as the room and bathroom was a plus. Our hosts could not have been more helpful, and the breakfasts are definitely a highlight. We love North Norfolk, and found... More

Difficult to add anything to previous reviews. Views from the room were terrific and the changes wrought by the rise and fall of the tides never ceased to be a spectacle. We went just before Easter when Wells was quiet. I would guess that in the height of the season it could be more difficult to get around. Plenty to... More

Lovely, old historical house situated right on the East Quay. Quiet location yet within easy reach of all the amenities of Wells-next-the-Sea. Breakfast was superb! Tasty, thick smoked bacon, fresh new laid eggs (the hens belong to the owner), excellent locally sourced sausage and the best fried bread. This was preceded by fresh fruit salad and thick greek yogurt. We... More

Great location right on the quayside but at the quiet end of town. Lovely breakfasts with other guests and Peter on hand, full of local knowledge and ideas for the day. Stayed in the twin room with its own door, very handy for early morning walk by the creek to look at curlews, godwits, lapwings, oyster catchers, brent geese etc.... More

What a wonderful long weekend we had at The Old Custom House. Our bedroom overlooked the creeks so the view was always changing. The welcome was wonderful as was the home cooked breakfast all to order with tea on tap. The beds were comfortable and the situation was quiet although only a short walk to the centre of town. The... We stayed here last year and have just booked another weekend break as it was such a lovely place. Its close to Wells centre but in a quiet area overlooking the harbour. Delicious breakfast, comfy bed and great hosts.
