This was our third time staying at the Smugglers this year. Great to find a central Lyme B&B that welcomes dogs and kids that has on site parking! We have normally had one of the triples overlooking the street which are opposite the guest kitchen. The rooms have quirky decor but are clean and comfy. Access to a kitchen is... More

Had trouble actually locating the Smugglers but when i phoned Chrissy and she showed me the room I was delighted. A modern comfortable room with a fantastic up to date bathroom - very impressive. Well located near the sea the breakfast in the shop was the quirky bit but really great. All in all a great experience well done Chrissy

You have to remember you are staying in the owner's (who is very friendly) house so the dining room is their room and is cluttered. stayed in the outside cottage which is nice as it has an ensuite and french windows. But in the main house, the rooms are large but no ensuite. I am sure there is space to... More

Chrissy had arranged that I should call when I reached Lym Regis, and they would give me directions. This worked perfectly, and I was able to park the car behind the B and B, with access straight from the parking area. Renovations seemed to be going on, and I was sleeping in a lovely big bedroom above the main street-... More

I was appalled to read the previous review. The smuggler is quirky, but it is immaculately clean and the proprietors are very friendly without being intrusive. my daughter and I are regular visitors to Lyme Regis and the Smuggler has quickly become our first port of call. Even at short notice they will do their best to accommodate you. If... More

If you are looking for a B&B with your room number and plastic tablecloth on the breakfast table etc.. don't stay here! Breakfast is served communally in the large sunny dining room alongside your fellow guests and lasts forever due to the huge portions, never ending tea/coffee, toast etc. I have stayed many times over the past few years probably... We have stayed at the Smuggler once or twice a year for 4-5 years (including for part of our honeymoon!), and each time we have found it a relaxing home from home. The main house and the cottage rooms are all comfortable, and Chrissy and the family have always been very welcoming and a good font of advice and ideas... More

Forget the airport queues this year. And miss out the Eurozone. Lyme Regis is the perfect break, and The Smuggler the perfect place to stay. Sorted. The Smuggler enjoys the ideal position - High Street next to lovely shops, banks and amenities, and just a seagull's-throw from the beach, cliffs, and iconic Cobb. The rooms are clean, simple and great... More
