A lovely place to stay, well placed for exploring the Galloway area. Rob and Julie the hosts are extremely hospitable and very friendly; the rooms are spacious and smart; the food good; the garden very pretty. The snooker room was a pleasant surprise! This was our second stay at Rowallan and we would certainly stay here again in the future.... More

My husband & I stayed at Rowallan House one night on our way to Belfast on a business trip in March. We were welcomed warmly by our hosts Rob & Julie, a delightful & interesting couple, nothing was to much trouble to make our short stay enjoyable. Our bedroom was spacious and comfortable and we were served a lovely breakfast... More

With nice large rooms ,great gardens and great service , you won't find a nicer place to stay in the area than here . There is a well stocked bar and snooker room for those who don't want to stray to far at night and the home cooked food is second to none , before you look somewhere else stay... More

A really nice place to stay - a bit more pricey than most B&Bs but you'll see why.

We had a warm welcome, the room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was huge! Newton Stewart is a good base for exploring the surrounding countryside. The nearest Pub was welcoming and well stocked with whisky and the Cinema had the most comfortable seats ever. We didn't see the red squirrel, so we will have to come back!

Two very nice people run a spotlessly clean and comfortable b & b. Very quiet location with ample secure parking. Ideal for 2 or 3 couples having a reunion (as were we). An evening meal on the 1st night prepared by Julie was typical good home cooking. A short walk into town lead us to the Galloway Arms for dinner... More

I spent 5 night at Rowallan over the August bank holiday weekend. The area, the house, the garden, the host's, the beauty, the breakfast and dinners, the fun of the trip was overwhelming. What a Fanatatic guesthouse a beuatiful area. I look forward to my next visit

A five day stay in an extremely comfortable and quiet B and B. The bedroom was spotless well equipped, ensuite with a lovely view over the town to the hills beyond. There are two very comfortable resident lounges, one being a private, residents' bar, a conservatory dining room overlooking the garden, excellent parking space, a lovely garden with seats and... Rowallan House was a lovely place to stay. The setting is a lovely house with an abundance of space to relax, a pretty garden, copious parking and tucked quietly away. Crucially our room was spacious and the bed very comfortable (one time 8 month pregnant lady slept well!). By far the best aspect is the welcoming couple who run Rowallan... More

Rob and Julie's friendly welcome for my wife and I after nearly five hundred miles on a wet day speaks for their approach and hospitality to guests. A large, clean en-suit room with a comfortable bed is available. After a good nights sleep, home cooked breakfast awaits with fresh local produce. Fuelled up for the day, with the sun showing...
