I have stayed in Fishguard twice, in 2008 and 2009, and heartily recommend the Tara Hotel. Both of the ensuite twin rooms I stayed in were clean, cosy and well maintained. Steve and Pam are both very welcoming to their guests, and the breakfast provided is both tasty and ample, setting myself and my travelling companion up well for 12-plus...

I have had really great time in The Tara Hotel. This place was fantastic. I was there 3 years ago and i still remember it:))))
I cannot believe that anybody could recommend this place. We booked in for one night in the family room. The room was very shabby: curtains hanging of the rails, dusty, not one corner in the room where the wallpaper wasn't ripped. Dusty rugs on old carpet. Although the owners were friendly one wonders whether they have any understanding of providing...

Thank you for your comments and while the management accepts that the decor in this particular room requires renewing (this is the last room requiring renovation). We are not prepared to accept that our service, breakfast and cleanliness are below standard in fact we have been congratulated on all of those catagories by Visit wales and countless other customers. And...

I stayed here whilst attending a friend's wedding in Fishguard. The hotel is very charming and is very homely. The owners were extremely welcoming and helped me arrange transport to and from the wedding. The room was comfortable (I was in a double at a single rate) and had everything you'd expect. The breakfast got a 9 out of 10...

I would not recommend this B&B at all. On entering the bar area there was an overwhelming smell of dog, very off putting. The room was a reasonable size but the whole place looks in need of updating. Very disappointing especially considering the 3* rating.
We stayed 3 nights at the Tara and there was more positives than negatives. Positives Clean room and en-suite. Good choice of breakfast menu and well cooked. Pleasant friendly hosts. Sea views from room. Negatives Lots of stairs. Small room.
We stayed here for one night with our two teenage sons and dog before we sailed to Rosslaire the following day. This was a very friendly hotel, staff were so helpful. We had two lovely rooms and the breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay here again. Very good value.
The Tara hotel is an ok place to stay. The owners are super friendly and very helpful. The room we had was waaaay small however, and it didn't appear that they were so busy that they couldn't have switched to something a little better, perhaps one with a window... The location is good, within walking distance of plenty of shops,...

I stayed at this hotel for two nights with a group of friends walking the Pembrokeshire coastal path. We enjoyed our stay. The rooms were fine and the food in the restaurant was excellent. The family running the hotel were very friendly and could not have been more helpful.
