This was our second visit to the Umfolozi Game Reserve, although our first stay at the "Mpila Camp", where we stayed in one of the tented camps. We were saddened by the lackadaisical, disinterested and unenthusiastic attitude of the staff when checking-in and when enquiring about matters. Previously, staff had always had pleasant attitudes and had been eager to please... More

You live in a good hut with cookingfacilities and a refrifegerator and with nice outside sitting place . In the evening you can spot the hyena coming close to your hut, we even expierenced that it was on our veranda in the late evening. If you not travelling with small children you should take the huts a little way from... More

We stayed in one of the 2 bed chalets for two nights...and despite the awful weather, our stay was superb (the beds were a little too firm for us though)!!! We have stayed at a number of Game Reserves...and this was up there with some of the best!! The Chalet was spotless and beautifully serviced...We had spectacular views from our... More

Stayed in 5 bed/2 bedroom self cater chalet. Comfortable and clean. But remember to take your own drinking water and food with you, and that the electricity is only on from about 0700 - 2145. BBQ (brai) equipment provided. Fantastic location. You can sit on your terrace and wait for wildlife to come - eg warthogs, impala, monkeys, guinea fowl,... More

We were with a group of 12 who booked a 2 night stay at Mpila's Safari Tent Camp. This was the first of 4 game reserve areas we were visiting and it was a wonderful beginning. I am not much of a camper so was unsure what to expect - luckily I was pleasantly surprised by the tenting experience. We... More

We spent two nights in a two-person safari tent with friends in a tent next door. The camp is in a beautiful location with sweeping views, although our tents didn't have views (get tents 34, 35, or 36 for views, or stay in a bungalow, which all seem to have good views). The kitchen was well-equipped and the sleeping tent... More

Stayed here a few times now, the latest was in Novermber 2011. I normally stay in the self-catering guest chalets. The accommodations are ok, nothing special. The location is great though, nearly always get visited by warthog, buck, vervet monkeys on the lawn. The camp shop has very little stock and there is no camp restuarant so best to bring... More

We booking into the 2 sleeper self-catering chalet which comprises of 1 open-plan room which serves as a sleeping, dininging and kitchenette area. There was a shower-en-suite leading off this room. The chalet was basic and clean with a small deck off the front. We enjoyed the daily visits from the wart-hogs and bucks whilst having breakfast. One thing we... More

We spend three nights in a two bed safari tent at Mpila. I think all tents have en suite facilities as well as a private kitchen which is attached to the raised platform. The game viewing here was almost equivalent in terms of quality to Kruger, and the relatively small size of the park made it easy to get around... More

We visited Mpila Camp in the Imfolozi Game Park for two nights. First night was in the 4 bed tented camp, second night in a 5 bed Chalet. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would recommend it. We are already planning to return. The tent is more exciting but rustic. The biggest problem is that the kitchen cant keep the... More
