Value for money here is really not great. We stopped over here on our trip down to the Cape on a recommendation. The rooms are dated (not quaint or charming) and when we asked to see the other rooms, they were just as mediocre. The meal prepared by Gordon was average, and despite the "slow food" philosophy and the use... More

This guest house was slightly confined in that the rooms were all a bit dated and very close to each other around a small pool, but as there were so few guests, this did not matter. The service was above average, the lady manager was really friendly and obliging, but the outstanding plus to this guest house was the food... More

The guest house staff is friendly and the hotel is located near the center of Graaff-Reinet. But this hotel is so old-fashionned, one can even say antiquated, the decoration of our room probably dates from the 50's or 60s: pink and salmon everywhere, grandmother's antique furniture if you prefer. Our room had no single window and was right on the... More

Thank you for your review, we find all reviews most helpfull, whether positive or negative. I am very glad that you pointed out the antiquity and age of our establishment and I will agree that our decore is out of fashion. This is exactly what we are trying to achieve. As our building is a historical national monument and nearly... More

This guest house is magnificent!! Gordon's food is absolutely marvellous. All local produce, usually procured or shot by Gordon himself. He prides himself in his food and you will not be disappointed... Excellent....

A beautiful old historic building with much history & charm. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the owners Gordon & Rose are great hosts. We spent new year with them and they went out of their way to ensure a memorable stay, even going so far as to take us out to see the Christmas lights in the... More

I made sure I read a few reviews on Tripadvisor before making a reservation. Admittedly there were a few reviews that were not very complimentary of this establishment. Well my impression is that you cannot satisfy all the people all the time and if you are after a slick modern experience then this place is not for you. Keep in... More

Stayed one night and enjoyed the meal prepared by the owner (Gordon). There are 2 choices for each course, both freshly prepared from locally sourced suppliers. Full description given by Gordon in his pre dinner presentation. Wine advice freely given and expected to be followed!. Rooms OK, could do with a bit of updating, and will always suffer from fronting... More

Our group of friends stayed in the wonderful old 18th centuary town of Graaff Reinet and had a fantastic time, there is so much to see and do and the staff and owners at this guesthouse were fantastic. I's an old historic building so don't expect modern finishes but it's comfortable, clean and cosy and a perfect base to explore... More

We arrived at Andries Stockenstrom early afternoon and were met and assisted by their very competent staff. We decided to have a reflexology treatment which was on offer at the resort for a very reasonable rate - this proved to be an amazing experience. The rooms were tastefully furnished and cosy and although the weather was too cold for swimming,... More
