This is a nice little hotel right next to the airport. It has a nice little pool area and views of Mt Kilimanjaro. The pool looked like it drew quite a few mosquitoes, so bring your bug repellent. Our party of 12 was forced to check out at 10 am despite having reservations to check out at 2pm, after a... More

A very nice, up-scale, lodge with authentic grounds and buildings. I love how I was greeted by a porter in Maissi dress. He took us to our room that is a well furnished authentic-looking African cabin. Beautiful furniture, bathroom, and good air conditioning. Loved the outdoor dinning, pool, and bar area. Keep in mind that Tanzanian infrastructure is not the... More

The location of the hotel is the key selling point of the hotel. It is 3 minute drive away from the Kilimanjaro airport. The food is quite good and we got a decent three course meal for dinner. The pool area is also quite nice. The room we stayed at was clean. However, it is at most two and a... More

Stayed one night with friends after climbing Kili; was looking forward to some luxury. Great place for bird watchers. Pretty gardens. Rooms on the basic side but clean. Hot water for the shower came directly from a warm mountain spring. We were asked to move room as staff could not find the remote control for the aircon. Wasn't sure what... More

The best reason to stay at this hotel is the location, about 5 minutes from the International airport. I've stayed here before several times and this time I stayed both before and after a northern circuit safari. Plus: complimentary transfers to/from the hotel from nearby JRO; great view of Kilimanjaro - should she chose to show herself; pleasant gardens and... More

We staeyed there for only one night before we left Tanzania. the property is located very close to the Kilimanjaro airport so it is a natural stop. The property itself is very nice with a lots of beautiful flowers and trees around, idividual houses, and a view of Kilimanjaro. Rooms were clean and very comfortable, staff was nice. The place... After two weeks in Tanzania, it was time to move onto South Africa. We had a spare night, so just decided to stay near the airport because we had a 6am flight. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this lodge. The rooms were spacious and very clean and sweet smelling, the facilities were well kept and the staff... More

After spending 8 days traveling through out Tanzania, we spent our final night at the Kia Lodge, before flying out of Kilimanjaro airport at 6 am the following day. Our tour operator set up this hotel for us, as the alternative appeared to be to stay in Arusha (~45 minute drive). Since we had to be at the airport before... More

I was expecting a soulless cement block, and found individual huts set in lovely grounds. It was poorly lit at night, though, so do bring a torch. The pleasant open bar area had wi-fi, and proper coffee. In the room, the shower was functional, and the supply of hot water was good. The bed was fairly comfortable, but the use... More

I can only really comment on spending the day here, as we never actually stayed overnight. After finishing our Kilimanjaro trek we stayed the day here, before flying home. They allowed us to book a room for the day and being so close to the airport (literally 5 minutes away) we could happily swim in the pool and eat in... More
