I could find nothing luxury about this camp, it was simply the worst place we have stayed in a dozen or more safari type holidays. The tent had been erected on sloping ground and so the hard bed sloped, so one rolled down the slope in the night. The water supply was limited, the hot water even more so! If... More

We stayed for 2 nights in March at Lemala Camp on the crater rim and had a very special experience. Lemala, a seasonal camp with only 9 tents, is on the eastern side of the crater rim & has exclusive access to the crater floor used only by one other lodge. In the early morning in March, we saw no... More

Our safari was unfortunately cut short due to a family medical emergency, but before we left TZ we were privileged to spend a night at the Lemala camp, Ngorongoro Crater. The grounds were breathtaking. No, we didn't have a rimside view, but the camp is nestled under the lacy, umbrella Acacia trees. The setting is magical. The staff greeted us... More

We visited the crater, then drove to the camp. It started raining, but everyone there was so friendly and accommadating. The tents are amazing, and the food was great. We loved "bush TV" ( the campfire), but most of all the people there. They put hot water bottles in the bed that keep you comfy all night.

This camp was great for many reasons. Being inside the park allowed for us to get into the crater early in the morning and not have to wait in line at the entrance to the park with other people staying at lodges outside the park entrance. We were probably one of three trucks in the park as the sun camp... More

Lemala tent camp at the Ngorongoro crater has a very good location for visiting the crater floor. This requires that you drive from the main entrance gate to the NC to the camp which is located about 1 hour away. The camp is located on the rim but there is no crater view. The camp is located inside of the... More

We spent 1 night here in Tent #8. There are only 9 tents in this camp. Elevation is about 5000 feet or so however there is no view of the crater. It is woodsy and although, they told us there were no mosquitos, there were biting insects so best to bring bug repellent. The flooring of our tent was wood... More

We stayed one night @ the Lemela Ngorongora Mobile Camp. We arrived in the late afternoon after a beautiful day in the crater. There was a warm welcome by Godwin (Manger) and his team. We went to the big dinning tent where they served us a good juice and we did the registration there. After that we got an introduction... More

This tented mobile camp comes with a personal and welcoming service. The friendly and English speaking Maasai employees, wearing their traditional dresses, contribute to the local touch of the camp. Compared to the other camps we know (i.e. in the Serengeti), the infrastructure is a slightly simpler (e. g. unheated toilets, shower). During night, the outside temperature can be surprisingly... We really enjoyed our stay at Lemala Ngorogoro over Christmas. The staff were very friendly and keen to help in any way. The tents were comfortable and staff worked hard to manage the limited resources well.
