This was our second visit to Cruachan and every bit as good as the first. We had the huge upstairs double room with lovely bath, very welcoming after our endeavour to climb Suilven. Having spent all day on the hills we ate in both evenings and enjoyed the outstanding food provided by the innovative Maggie. Fresh, local produce at its... More

We stayed in what another review describes as the downstairs twin. Felt it was not really up to a 4 star rating, although it was clean and functional. It just did not have the bright roomy open perspective of our previous 4 star B&B in Ullapool (Tamarin). View was of the next door's rather rotting doorway. Lots of bits of... More

What a delight to have found this B&B - Dennis and Maggie were extremmely welcoming and perfect hosts. Presentation of the property was very well done, the lovely little lounge with open fire, the room we stayed in was a good size, clean and crisp decor and clean. We drove to Lochinver for dinner in The Caberfeidh which was lovely... More

It must be at least at least 10 years since I stayed in any B&B, I thought them good then but standards have either risen considerably or this guest house is an jewel. Any criticism could only be due to the genre or the remoteness of the location. For it is remote, but peaceful and quiet in December. The accommodation... More

Stayed with another three in mid June 2010 room was well above average, and our host was exceptional. Food was restuarant standard, a memorable visit.

Cruachan Lodge is one of the most tranquil and relaxing places that my Wife and i have stayed in. Set in beautiful Assynt - with the Mountains of Suilvan, Canisp, Quinaig etc on your doorstep - you also have the stunning views of Stoer Point and fantastic beaches of Clachtoll and Achmelvich only a short drive away. Dennis and Maggie... More

I wish this was my house - our room (number 4) was stunning - tastefully decorated, clean and large, with an ensuite with red rolltop bath. Bed very comfortable and a separate sitting area topped off our stay. The downstairs lounge is great - again tastefully furnished and makes your stay even more comfy, with the fire on in the... More

IT WAS A FANTASTIC STAY. lOVELY HOST AND HOSTESS AND GORGEOUS LOCATION. The dinner to die for.....maybe a bit more expensive rooms than accustomed to on the EAST COAST but very well looked after.
