Clearly they had an angry and frustrated decorator. The stark black and white lobby is in poor taste, but the bullet hole wallpaper upstairs is beyond hideous. Rooms are quite small, and you can't really shut the bathroom door, but other than that, it's satisfactory. Location is convenient to all the homeless and panhandlers.

We stay at the Shattuck to attend a conference. We had a king sutie, great room over looking the main street, interesting people to watch. All the staff was very friendly and professional. Very close to the BART station. Great dinning in the area.
