My friends and I just got back from our yearly trip to Bishop Lake and a stay at Parchers Resort. While the cabins were newer and pleasant the service left MUCH to be desired. When we entered the office to ask about an early check-in we walked into a heated and sarcastic conversation between an employee (young man about 26... More

Based mainly on its remote location and setting, this has to be one of the best cabin-resorts we've ever stayed at. Nestled high among countless groves of Aspen trees in Alpine country, this was the perfect place for us to do some high Alpine hiking. The cabin looked to be farily new, and well kept. We stayed in Cabin 9,... More

We had a delightful stay at Parchers Resort (at 9000+ ft.) preparing for a trek over Muir Pass. The staff were friendly , breakfast is terrific, and the atmosphere is authentic high Sierra.

Great Cabin & Staff! Very satisfied! We stayed in cabin #3. Alot of room for our family of 5. Clean, Neat & Affordable...you can't beat that! This is a hikers cabin so you will need your own towels, sheets & blankets. Everything else is pretty much provided...warm showers, fridge, plenty of lighting and kitchenware. Just bring your own food or... More

We stayed in cabin 19, and the freezer issue has not been resolved. The office said a service came out, but this did not change the fact that the freezer went "off" several times a night. (It sounded like an alarm clock with the freezer door shut.) The interior was a little musty and available hot water (and water pressure)... More

Stayed 3 nights in Cabin #19. Beautiful scenery, rushing water in the creek behind the cabin, great location, but not worth the price. The cabin was old, bed's were terrible! Towels were stiff and old, kitchen not very clean and the screens were packed with dirt. Refrigerator/freezer had us up all night the first night with a noisy fan. We... More

Every summer I make sure to stay in the South Fork canyon of Bishop Creek at least once, and if I don't camp, I stay at Parchers. Jared Smith is as enthusiastic and knowledgeable a host you find for this special place in the Eastern Sierra. (Read his book, Fishin' Trails.) For us, an outing to the Sierras is more... More
