Durack House has a wonderful location in the leafy and very lovely suburb of Mount Lawley. It's an easy stroll to the train station, then 7 minutes and 3 stops (hop out of the 4th) and you're in the heart of Perth - amazingly convenient! The two customer parking spaces are also incredibly helpful given the street parking restrictions. Durack House is also just a short drive from Beaufort Street which offers plenty of scope for evening dining options. Bill and Sandra were heading out for lunch the day of our arrival so Sandra called and arranged to leave the key for us so we could let ourselves in should we arrive before they returned. The house and garden is lovely, very welcoming and we felt privileged to be staying in one of the many beautiful Mount Lawley properties. We stayed in the Camellia Room which was a good size, had plenty of cupboard space, room for a table and chairs, a large bathroom with bath and separate shower. We met Sandra the following morning when she served us a wonderful breakfast commencing with fresh fruit and yoghurt (our second morning was warm stewed fruit and yoghurt and was equally delicious) and followed by a really tasty cooked breakfast. Cereal, bread and condiments were also available and the guest lounge has a toaster, tea and coffee making facilities and a refrigerator which came in handy for us. We had a few issues with the reception on our television and couldn't find the huge selection of DVD's which were available for viewing (they weren't in the guest lounge as we expected) so had limited viewing options on our first night but that was our only issue. We were very comfortable and made to feel at home during our stay at Durack House and would definitely stay here again on future trips to Perth.…

We booked this property after doing some research on trip advisor. It was only for 1 night as Qantas had changed our flights which necessitated an overnight in Perth. Well... what a find. In Mt Lawley, a few minutes walk to the train station, 4 stops and 10 minutes to centre of Perth, this beautiful home was hosted by Sandra and Bill. The house, in fact the whole suburb, was so beautiful, quite and peaceful. The rooms were large, the ensuite including bath was lovely and the lounge area was very comfortable to use after returning from dinner in town. The king bed was so comfortable that my wife took it apart next morning to see what made it so good. Available tea, coffee, homemade biscuits , port and reading material added to the enjoyment. Breakfast cooked by the hosts next morning was fresh, plentiful and very very nice. This is a little sanctuary only 10 minutes walk up to shops in Mt Lawley and a cheap and short train ride to town. $30 odd with Uber from the airport, give it a try . Much nicer than a hotel room in town …

We spent several days as guests with Bill & Sandra at their lovely period house in Mt Lawley. The beds are super comfortable, the linen lovely and a big bath, seperate shower makes it easy to relax. The location is great to get around, easy walking to local dining, cafe/drinks. Very short walk to the train station to get around if you don’t want to drive. Sandra and Bill are great hosts, friendly & helpful. The breakfasts are great too. Highly recommended.

My brother and I spent three days in and around the Perth area, and Durack was the most comfortable base for our exploring. Sandra and Bill are very warm and welcoming, and happy to share their wealth of information about things to do and see. Breakfast was delicious and a great start to the day, with juice, fresh fruit salad and yoghurt, a cooked breakfast made to your personal preferences and cereal and toast available for self-service. Breakfast can be served either in the conservatory or in the garden, an explosion of greenery which is quite simply a delight to sit in. A lovely big bathroom with a good, powerful shower, a very comfy bed - ingredients for a perfect stay! I haveno hesitation in recommending this peaceful haven with easy access to the city centre and beyond - bonne continuation Sandra and Bill!…

We spent 5 nights feeling at home in Durack House Bed and Breakfast. The large charming house with beautiful gardens, a comfortable bed and bath, and a guest-only sitting room was perfect for our needs. A hot breakfast was made to order each day and served by the friendly hostess and host. We enjoyed sharing breakfast with other travelers from around Australia and Europe. The home was just a 5 minute walk from a train station with frequent trains into downtown Perth. The hosts also provided free parking and driving directions for when we wanted to use our car. If you like staying in a quiet area with easy access to the city, try Durack House B and B.

We stayed at Durack house for three nights on arrival in Perth and it was an excellent choice. The B&B is located in a quiet neighbourhood within easy walking distance of the centre of Mt Lawley with it's shops, bars and excellent restaurants. The railway station is just around the corner and the frequent trains are only a few stops away from the centre of the city or further afield (such as Freemantle) if you require. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the welcoming hosts provide plenty of useful local information. Highly recommended.

We stayed at Durack b&b in February and had a wonderful time, we arrived much earlier then check in and were met by Sandra the owner with a lovely warm welcome and allowed to check in. Our room was beautiful, so wonderfully furnished and finished to a very high standard. The breakfast was beautiful and really lovely presented in the conservatory, one day we were even set up outside and it was really lovely. Sandra and Bill are lovely hosts, nothing is too much trouble and they are on hand to give you plenty of useful information. The b&b is in mount lawley, the train is a couple of minutes walk from the b&b and runs every 15 minutes into Perth and only takes a couple of minutes, it even goes straight through to Fremantle which is great. Mount lawley itself is a lovely area with some beautiful bars and restaurants in its own right. Do not be put off thinking mount lawley is way out, you can see the city from the road and we even walked the straight road into the city several times, you will not be disappointed staying here and we can't wait to book again, and we will.…

Really enjoyed our stay at Durack House. Perfect location to explore Mount Lawley's bars and restaurants. Rooms are clean and the bed is probably the most comfiest I've slept on! Owners are friendly and the breakfast is really good.
