This is so far out of the way, we needed to go back 5 kilometers to get to the park. Down dusty rocky roads to get to a room that I can only imagine is good for a county lock up. The "furniture in the room was two folding chairs, an awfully uncomfortable double bed( small with no box springs)... More

The location next to the Rincon National Park is great (although the road to the lodge is really bumpy). There is a private trail around the lodge, which we enjoyed on our first afternoon. Choose the beefsteak for dinner, it is great! We had a room on the top of the hill. It was clean and nice, although not fully... More

Set on a west-facing wooded hillside on the flanks of Rincon volcano, the cabins and central reception/restaurant lie in well-manicured gardens and lawns with a magnificent view of the lovely surrounding countryside. The cabins themselves are comfortable and more than adequate, although good reading lights are needed! Great to chill out on the individual verandas or in the hammocks under... More

The lodge has an enchanting setting with lush greenery and very pretty landscaping dotted with a gazebo and a couple of hammocks. We stayed in the more expensive, Standard room, which was very nice and spacious with a full bed and two single beds on either side. The bathroom looked renovated and had a large wonderful hot shower. We also... More

Stayed here for a few nights December 24-27, in peak season. It is a beautiful, quiet place. Our cabin had a backyard with a hammock and an incredible view of the rolling hills of the nearby farms. We saw cows and horses on the pastures in the distance, and there are many different birds on the property. The food was... More

This was our first stop after experiencing a lot of rain in Belize. The lodge was clean, we had great service and was good value. Unfortunately, we did not give Rincon de La Vieja much of a chance since it continued to rain there as well. We were tired of being wet so we decided to to leave and go... More

Rinconcita is on the east, Santa Maria, side of Rincon de la Vieja National Park. The cabins and dining area are located on a hillside with lovely gardens and view of the sunset. There are many birds and the stars at night are spectacular. Meal choices (breakfast is included) are ample, good, and reasonable--the fresh fish was delicious. The staff... More

First off, the hotel was gorgeous. The building is basic and straightforward, but the stars are absolutely breathtaking and make up for anything the structure lacks. However, I had a situation with a peeping Tom in the shower. The window was completely clear and had no curtain. At the end of my shower, I saw a man's face watching me... More

We decided to stop here because we missed our road and the night was coming. The staff was very great, helpful. The restaurant is really good and breakfast is included in the price. We stayed in a house made of wood with 3 beds and a large bathroom, fan and mosquito protection. Everything was totally clean. You can also stay... More

I was there last September in rainy season. Only one backpacker on my solo trip. They let me build my tent in the garden under shelter. And take a cold (you really dont need hot water even in Costa Ricans so called winter). The staff was very nice for me. I highly recommend not to go alone in the park.... More
