I travel all over and I always look forward to going to Carmel this hotel is great the last cottage even had a real wood burning fireplace

The Carmel River Inn is promising, with the forest setting and charming cottages. Unfortunately, the majority of people are staying in the outdated rooms. For almost $150 USD you get essentially a motel with a few amenities. People at the front desk are very helpful, but the out-dated rooms really bring down the rating.

Stayed here with my family and my Mum a couple of weeks ago. It was really comfortable and clean. The two bedroom cottage, was exactly that.
