Beautiful views, great location. While I prefer the quieter more intimate hotel next door (the tickle pink) this hotel boasts one of the best restaurants in the area.

If you are expecting a typical Hyatt stay then Highlands deserves a one or a two. If you are expecting an historic hotel stay then Highlands deserves a four or five. It depends. Highlands was first opened in 1917 and many of the buildings are original. The location is strikingly beautiful with architecture to fit. You do however have to... More

I used points for my stay. I don't believe the room I got is worth a Category 6 rating. I got a very basic, small room. My view had partial ocean view. What I mainly saw was the roof of a building and got all their smoke from a fireplace that I wish I had. Had I gotten a better... More

I took my girlfriend to the Hyatt Carmel Highlands for her birthday and since it was just the girls, we wanted a two bedroom configuration. We checked in to a nice room with a downstairs master bedroom and an upstairs pull out couch/bed. The room was mostly wood and a bit dark with very little artwork on the walls. But... More

We have stayed at this property several times over the years, starting ten years ago to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We have attended 3 Timeshare Invitation stays at this property. For $99/night this is a wonderful deal and a great opportunity to stay at the property at an inexpensive rate. Our room had full oceanviews but what I did... More

Back again, this place has stunning views. The real wood burning fireplaces are wonderful, wether in your room or public areas. This place is expensive. Over $800 plus tax for our room on a deal. Bi level townhouse suite. No point in staying unless you can streatch to an ocean view anything. The hotel is its own worst enemy. We... More

The location, friendly staff, beautiful grounds, and large rooms more than compensate for the high room rate. The experience is more than worth the charges.

Beautiful location above highway 1 overlooking the coast. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The location is 5 star, the hotel itself is 4 star. Our room was spotless and had everything we needed except spare electrical outlets. I will say the room, although spotless, was a little tired but not enought to take away from the feel of... More
