We got a $100 room from an online special, so we were in one of the small street-side queens. Based on other Trip Advisor reviews, they musth ave re-done the rooms. The service was great and the rooms were very clean. It had the feel of a bed-and-breakfast, rather than a hotel. We really enjoyed staying there, and wish we... More

Let's start by saying that if you are going to stay in Carmel you need to book in advance . . .a long way in advance. We thought that an early weekday in May would be no problem, but went through several options before finally finding space at the Colonial Terrace. Only a suite was available which is what we... My priorities when travelling are a quiet and clean room : the Colonial Terrace met both requirements. We stayed three nights in May. The room we stayed in was quite basic but comfortable; we were glad it had a small gas fireplace as it was not very warm when we stayed there. The bathroom is a little dated, however it... More

My husband booked the Colonial Terrace as our stop in Carmel on a California road trip. Right away I was enchanted by the well kept gardens and landscaping and cozy collection of buildings. We were warmly welcomed and stayed in room 27. The two ladies at reception gave us information on local attractions and a map of the area. I... More

A 10 minute walk from Ocean Avenue, the Colonial Terrace is a quaint property well situated on San Antonio 1 block from the beach. It feels comfortably removed from the main drags of Carmel, but close enough to walk everywhere in town with ease. The proximity to the beach is the real draw. We booked a day out, for Easter... This delightful Inn is in a great location-a short walk to the beach(which we could see from our balcony) and about a 15 minute walk thru the neighbourhood to the village. Our room was quite large, bright and clean with a beachy flavour to it.Also had a fireplace! The landscaping around the Inn was lovely and they had an outdoor fireplace to... More

We stayed a night in March, in unit 27. We were greeted very friendly, and found the lobby quite tasteful and appealing. The room itself was very simple-spartanic-basic...depending on your expectations/point of view. And the bathroom, as mentioned by other reviewers, was indeed dated. The rooms don't quite match the ambience of the lobby area, nor the loving detail of... More

Friends, this little Inn is a half block from Carmel beach and well worth the money to stay here the next time you are in Carmel. We've stayed here twice now, and each time the staff has made every attempt to be sure we enjoyed ourselved and were pampered alonmg the way. The charming rooms are perfectly appointed, and the... Pros - The Colonial Terrace is one block from the beach which is wonderful! - Grounds are very nice, beautiful gardens and comfortable seating areas - Staff was pleasant - Room linens were satisfactory - Sufficient parking Cons - Room 10 bed was squeaky and very springy (I'm pretty sure its the same bed we slept on 8 years ago...
