our stay here this past weekend. We had a wedding in Carmel to attend and the hotel we had originally booked didn't work out. The Tradewinds was very accommodating for our family. We had the king room that over looked the courtyard with the buddha and waterfall. It was delightful. Beds were comfortable, To bad someone else parked in our... More

We just stayed there. They claim to be a resort with spectacular views & spa package?.... No such thing of any of the above. No spa No views & No resort amenities... HOTEL. Is the best way to describe the place.....way way overpriced.

I am a little confused by your review but i will do my best to respond. We have an incredible team of massage therapists who perform treatments in the privacy of your own room. We offer the basic swedish and deep tissue massages but also some unique "zen" treatments including a warm shell massage and a deep tissue bamboo massage.... More

We just returned from a trip in CA spanning from Los Angeles to San Francisco, & Carmel was certainly the highlight. We found the Tradewinds online, never previously having stayed in Carmel, and were very happy with our stay. Pros: The extremely friendly staff. We arrived on the late side (around 8:45pm) & were greeted by a friendly feline named... More

Stayed here April 4-5. Re-invigorated motel in Asian theme. Outstanding staff from first greeting to check out. It makes a difference. Do not judge this hotel from its former function. In quaint and compact Carmel there are plenty of converted motels and apartment buildings. The issue is appointments. The bed is top notch as are the linens and towels. This... More

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. I love room 1 because it is an end unit with high ceilings and the view of Point Lobos. It is so light and airy, too! We hope to see you again soon for a visit to our beautiful little village! More

In February 2012 we stayed at Tradewinds during Valentine's Day week. Our room was beautifully decorated, extremely quiet, very clean and had a beautiful view from the balcony. Yes, chocolate strawberries awaited us!! We had our choice each day of going downstairs to the continental breakfast or having it delivered to our room. The hotel staff was so helpful in... More

If you are looking for a bargain, you shouldn't be going to Carmel to begin with. The hotel isn't cheap, but i didn't want cheap. We were traveling there for thanksgiving and were lucky enough to be the exception and get 2 nights (instead of the 3 night minimum for the holiday), but we didn't have a lot of choice... More

Thank you so much! Our gardens are so peaceful and zen-like. We had a well-known author sit in front of the Buddha fountain in our Meditation Garden for 3 days and write a book! We hope to see you again soon. More

In December 2011 we stayed at Tradewinds for 4 nights. At this time of year it was very affordable. Not only was the hotel beautiful on the outside (loved the firepit), the rooms were beautifully decorated. What a nice surprise to find chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us in our room. Breakfast was excellent, expecially when it was delivered to... More

We arrived around 2:00 and our room was not ready. When we returned around 5, we were escorted to our room and helped with our bags. The room was nice, although I was expecting a bit more b/c of the price. If you stay be sure to get a top floor b/c the people above were very loud and the... More

We celebrated our 30th anniversary touring the California coastline and the Tradewinds was definitely a highlight. The room was exquisite - large, beautifully decorated in a Feng Shui motif, and included a gas fireplace. The kimonos in the room were a welcome change to the robes offered at most four star and above hotels. Complimentary chocolate-covered strawberries, nuts, candy, and... More

We go to this "motor lodge" they call a B&B. Our greeting was curt, unfriendly and just rude. We showed up at 2:10 and they would not allow us to put our luggage in our room. We were 50 minutes early. The room was ready but she shooed us away like we were kids. Our room was remodeled but the... More

Sorry to hear you had a negative experience at Tradewinds Carmel. We have fresh fruit (chocolate dipped strawberries) that we like to put in the room as close to arrival as possible. We usually allow early checkins upon request, but perhaps the room was not totally ready. We pride ourselves on having the best front desk people in town and... More
