Love this place, it is my favorite B&B (and I have been to A LOT of them). The staff is wonderful. This inn is also very dog-friendly, it is my dog's favorite place to stay!

The Lamplighter Inn has a great location in Carmel, close to the beach and close to downtown. We felt very comfortable and welcomed to the Inn. Peggy was a delight and was very helpful in giving advice on dining and activities. The room was large and clean and gave me a feeling of being at the beach. Every night there... More

Our visit at the Lamp Lighter began with a lovely wine and cheese get together by the outdoor fireplace, hosted by Mary Ann who was most gracious and welcoming hostess. The hospitality was continued the next morning with breakfast on the lovely outdoor patio, surrounded by beautiful flowers. We were warmly greeted by Peggy and Bobby, who made us feel... More

We had just stayed in the Sea Lion room, not a cabin but upstairs with a peek-a-boo view of the water. As others have mentioned, the patios and overall ambience is very quaint. That is where the similarities end, our overall experience was quite disappointing. This is an older complex so when the shower was a little more than a... More

Hello and thank you for taking the time to review the Lamp Lighter Inn. First and foremost i would like to, and need to apologize for the tear in the duvet cover. That is absolutely unacceptable and I will speak with my housekeepers right away. As you were probably aware our beds are completely stripped and washed after every check-out... More

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The wine and cheese by the firepit are wonderful and a short walk down the hill to the beach for a gorgeous sunset is another reward...not to mention the sherry in the room for a little nightcap! You can't go wrong by staying here!!

This place is awesome! The rooms and the garden are adorable. It is incredibly close to the beach. The price is right and best of all, the staff is incredibly friendly. My fiancé and I stayed in the Sea Star room which was perfect for the two of us. We had just gotten engaged hours before our stay and the... More

We love this property which deserves its high ranking among Carmel properties. Bobby Richardson has a wonderful staff and everyone goes out of their way to make you feel welcome! Inge Dewi is particularly helpful and is determined to see that everyone has a wonderful visit. We've already worked with her to schedule our Spring 2013 visit! The charm and... More

We LOVED both Carmel and the Lamp Lighter Inn. We stayed in their smallest room/cabin, Katy Did, but it was plenty of room for the two of us on our two night stay. We must have picked the best weekend so far this year as the weather was glorious the whole weekend, which only added to the distinct charm of... More

A family of three adults, we shared the Sea Lion room, which includes a king and a day bed in a spacious room with fireplace, desk, and two comfortable armchairs. There was a view of the ocean from the expansive windows. My favorite part of the visit was the outdoor area. It was chilly morning and evening. Sitting in the... More

I just finished my second stay in one of the Sunset Suites found at the Lamplighter Inn. This stay was with family and we took up two rooms of the inn, while a separate family took up most of the other rooms on the property while they were doing a big family getaway. Ironically enough, we found ourselves in the... More
