For some reason, no one has thought to write a comment letting everyone know that Monkey Republic unfortunately burnt down on Easter Sunday this year, so don't bother turning up expecting a room! Fortunately, The Big Easy down the road has rooms and you can book for Monkey Island from there :)

Cheap basic clean rooms. Great bar, cool music, free drink with your room and they do veggie food!! They also contribute to local charities :) Good if you're looking for a place to crash after partying on serendipity beach and comfort food for your hangover.

Don't believe the hype about this place. The rooms are overpriced and dirty. We has o walk past a diesel smelling generator to get to our room as well. The restaurant was okay but there are definitely better places to go eat around town and spend your money. The staff was friendly, but that was really the only positive part... More

We just ate here one day and had drinks. The burger was good and the chicken kebobs were delicious and a huge serving. We just had beer, prices were reasonable. I would eat here before any place on the beach.

The food was the best in that part of town for sure. The traditional fry ups, the "comfort food" was very good, fresh and the service always came with a smile. the rooms however have seen better days, but i did over here that during the wet season they were looking at doing up all of the rooms. We ate here several times and had huge portions of delicious food! We tried the Asian and western food and were only disappointed with the size of the cheese burger. Do be careful to add up the bill yourself though as their calculations were always wrong. Can't comment on the bungalows as we didn't stay here but the wifi isn't... More

Stayed in a private room. Got bed bugs, couldn't move us that night as were full other than the 2 other rooms they were fumigating from bugs. Was advised by manager on duty not to bother washing all clothes etc "as nowhere does hot watwr wash anyway" so the next night in the new room we of course got more... More

I didn't find any bad bugs, but I got at least 20 mosquito bites, since they do not provide mosquito net. Toilet was clogged and shower had really low flow.. Prices in the restaurant are quite high, but the food is nothing special and the service is really slow. For 11 dolars there are many better options in Sihanoukville.

Upon checking in our initial impressions of the room where good. we got a double bedroom, private bathroom shack for $11. However after being in the room for no more than 5 minutes we saw live bed bugs on the pillow end walls and also under the bed sheet. if this wasnt enough one of the doorms had been closed... More
