We did not find the HIE to be "worn out", and in fact thought it a nice place to stay. Staff was friendly and helpful, rooms (including bathroom and carpet) were spotless, comfortably furnished with excellent beds. It was quiet- our rooms were in the back. No complaints.

We wanted to go skydiving at Skydive Santa Barbara and this was the best deal we found in the area. Our room was clean and comfortable, the receptionists were always really nice and helpful, the complimentary breakfast was great.. we really have no complaints.

Another couple and ourselves had 2 rooms for 1 night to prolong our wonderful trip to the Santa Ynez Valley.The rooms were bright, fresh, clean, and the beds were very comfortable.-they could have been brand new.It was close to good restaurants and other wine tasting areas.Would definately stay here again.

Excellent value, providing large, clean rooms, with parking and wi-fi. Service is non existent and breakfast is very ordinary. However, given a dirth of good value places to stay in Lompoc, you can do a lot worse than Holiday Inn Express.
