To start with I get a room which had a latch lock which was barely holding together, the room could hardly fit a bed in the room. The room said shared bathroom, but the smell and cleanliness of the room and the shared bathroom was terrible. The bathroom didn't had the amenities. The flush wasn't working for the bathroom.

I stayed on a thurs and monday and rented a room and shared washroom and shower..clean and never had a problem using washroom or shower,,it is not the Hilton but for the money it is great. Breakfast was great had coffee tea cereal waffle oj oatmeal milk would definitely recommend

After reading reviews I was somewhat apprehensive about my stay. I was pleasently surprised with the friendly staff, accomodations , location, and overall experience. i will reccomend the Cecil to anyone who will be visiting downtown LA.

I stayed 4 days. Ask for a room with Windows! Breakfast: not really good. Pancake bäh, musli very sweet. But Coffee and orange Juice ok. WLAN in Lobby works good. Room was ok for me. Bed is Standard quality. Got a bathroom (Windows room) TV works. Would Stay there again for this 40 US per night

We stayed here for several nights in November 2012 and would not recommend it - even if you are on a budget. We have stayed in hostels and 1 stars before and they have all been much nicer than Hotel Cecil. My partner and I stayed here last September and found the hotel to be nice, clean with friendly staff however the area is not great. It is located near a road nicknamed by locals as 'skid row' which is full of homeless people.
