Booked this trip based on the reviews here and manager replies and was not disappointed. 5 hours from L.A. is a bit of a haul but this was a nice alternative to the standard hotels in Monterey and Carmel. We rented a junior ocean front suite and as other have mentioned it may be ocean front but the "front" is... More

Our family stayed here last May, and it was lovely. The rooms are very clean and new, and the kids loved being driven around in a golf cart. The beach was a bit cold in May but we made coffee and hot chocolate, then cuddled up on the balcony to enjoy the sunset. Everyone enjoyed the resort. Cost is a... More

We stayed in one of the oceanfront rooms and it was worth the extra cost, the view was spectacular. It is not often you can lie in bed and see the ocean right out the sliding door. We saw two beautiful sunsets while sitting on our patio drinking a glass of wine, what can be better than that? The young... More

Thanks so much for leaving a review. I loved that you took full advantage of the property during your stay and I especially liked that you did it all with an oceanfront room! That is the best way after all to experience this magical place. I’m glad we made a great first impression and we look forward to having you... More

We stayed for a long weekend anniversary/birthday trip and brought our dogs. It was wonderful! We splurged for an ocean front junior suite and highly recommend doing so. The fireplace was great to take the chill off the ocean air, great views. The bed was ok, linens were lovely. Loved the layout of the room... The bathroom layout is slightly... More

Room in disrepair, dirty shower with hair, wallpaper ripped, paint peeling. The golf cart is mandatory and not convenient. The materials used and general design looks better in pictures than in person. It looks cheap. I overheard the staff referred to me and my boyfriend in Spanish as 'hotos'. They could know we were gay from the on duty manager... More

All feedback on this site is appreciated; we always like to know how we can improve our service. It must be clarified to the fullest extent however, that this hotel and its staff do not engage in petty name-calling and slandering of its guests. If an employee is found to be making such remarks, disciplinary action is taken immediately. We... More

This is a beautiful relaxing place. The pictures don't do it justice, it's even more amazing in person. The staff is so friendly and helpful. We have stayed here three different times during the year and it is always the same outstanding result....we don't want to leave. Can't wait to go back.

We were invited here by friends who had a condo (time share), it slept 6 people with a full kitchen patio and BBQ. Huge pool area to enjoy. We even had a private beach area to watch the sunset from. The bar has a great happy hour, Hawaiian nachos to die for! Dinner was also good in the restaurant. When... More

Thanks so much for weighing in on your experience on the property. I’m glad you found the accommodations to your liking. I would like to provide some clarification for those future travelers reading this; though we are on the same property, the timeshare and the resort operate independently. Our rooms sleep either two or four and do not have a... More

This is a beautiful and relaxing place to visit. You definitely have to go for oceanfront. We had the suite with a sitting area and fireplace and the extra space is well worth it. Our room overlooked a dune more than the ocean (#702 suite) but you could definitely see the waves and hear them. The beach was pretty deserted... More

Many thanks for offering insights into your stay with us! I’m glad you found the accommodations to be beautiful and relaxing as that is what we are striving for. Contrary to what some might think, the beach in front of our property remains relatively deserted throughout the year. Like you did, guests can walk for miles north or south of... More

Retreat to this quite resort for amazing view and miles of beach almost to yourself. Our room was a suite and had a sitting area and fireplace. We had a comfortable bed. The resort has a great hawaiian reasturant with cheap but quality happy hour. Would deffinely return.

My first visit to the Monterey Coast was perfect. I was able to view whales from the room with binoculars provided by the hotel. I did not expect to see the whales; I was just getting away for a few days. The room was very nice. It was cozy and very comfortable. We watched the sun vanish below the horizon... More

At first glance, I assumed I would be reading about a trip to the wharf and how you could see whales after being on a boat for a few hours but reading further made me say WOW! You saw whales from your room! Though not a seldom occurrence, it still excites the heck out of me when folks report that,... More
