We stayed here last week with 2 couples and we had a wonderful time. The rooms were amazing, and exactly as shown on the website. Every room has a different theme from the past. We really felt like we were 100 years back in time, but with all the luxuries we could ask for. Our room had a bathtub-on-claws in... More

I stayed the Friday George rm recently and it was the worst sleep I have had anywhere. All the rooms are on the top floor of a large bldg and of course heat rises. That entire level was too hot; couldn't enjoy the common areas. When I arrived the temp in my room registered 78; after 3 hours of running... More

The first time we stayed here I was so excited and loved the old time feel! What impressed me the most was how clean everything was! Also the effort into every inch of the room details makes it flow so nicely and are not lacking a bit. You feel like you are in a romantic and completely done sanctuary! We... More

Awesome place, awesome host! Surprised SUNSET hasn't articled it yet, it's that worthy. What a cool place to stay. We found this place online and booked it, according to all the great reviews we read. It was incredible and Kevin was a fantastic. He had our room warm for us when we showed up, gave us some good local exploration... More

My husband & I stayed 1 night in the Founder's Suite for our anniversary. The room was just like the pictures (romantic & beautiful) & the fireplace was a beautiful touch. The credit towards the restaurant next door was probably the best breakfast I had ever had (chicken fried steak)! It was a quaint town & we look forward to... More

After staying here several times over the past 5 years I can say this place is one of the best out there. It's about as cozy and cool as you can find. Basically American Pickers meets Bed and Breakfast, with old time charm and kindness that you don't get to see everyday. The hosts are absolutely the kindest you could... More

We've stayed here twice this past year. The Charles Miller room has been lovely, and the view of Mt. Shasta from this room is breathtaking. The owners are very nice, as is the room and the entire hotel, including the fun mercantile shop on the first floor which has wonderful merchandise, reasonably priced and attractively displayed. We also enjoy both... More

We loved spending 2 nights at the Mercantile Hotel! Full of history! So beautifully refurbished & so comfortable. We were awed by the rooms..... Craftsman, Founders, & Charles Miller so beautiful- loved the tubs! Beds very comfortable, rooms very clean. The whole family was able to gather in the main room and enjoy the fire, visit, play cards, drink wine....... More

We took this trip as a Christmas break and it wasn't dependent on there being snow. You can have a wonderful time in the Mc Cloud/Shasta area without snow in the winter. There is so much to do. We took an easy hike up Mt. Shasta, carefully walked on a frozen lake, drove around the other side of Shasta, went... More
