Fabulous location. You step out and walk to the headlands, stroll the quaint streets for some window shopping, and then you are back at MacCallum House for happy hour at their bar! It's bustling during dinner time. The restaurant on-site is in a wonderfully cozy, dark room. The breakfast each morning was fantastic. Our room was over the bar area,... More

Stayed in the suites building Morning Glory room#27. Four blocks from main building wher breakfast and dinner are served but WELL worth it. King room with gas fire place sitting area, outside sitting area with partial ocean view. Highly recomend suites building big rooms and very quiet.. MacCallum House should be looked at more as a B&B than a hotel. It does not have high end hotel amenities-no bellhop, nobody at the desk after 9pm. The rooms are quite varied in quality, price and accessibility spread over multiple sites. Everything from quaint cottages, to rooms in a converted barn, to high end suites. Be sure to go... More

We stayed at the macCallum House for the first time this trip, and have been to Mendo many times in the past. We had a great weekend, hiking, roaming the town, taking in the views of the sea. The MacCallum House is well located within easy walking distance of all you might want to do in Mendo and being in... More

We stayed in Rm 9, The Abbey Blair, whch is one of the cottages on the main property. The cottage is small - a queen bed, an armchair, a dresser and a mini-fridge and microwave take up most of the floor space. The bathroom is also fairly small with just a standard shower. The decor is not high end luxury, more... More

The room was not clean when we arrived. The beds were made, but there were cobwebs in the nearly every corner, lots of dust balls on the floor, and the pen for the "housekeeping" comment card was broken. Housekeeping, it turns out, will only be provided before you arrive. They don't clean the rooms during your stay (even if they're... More

We bought a Groupon for a two night stay, with a second room as a gift for my parents. We all stayed in the barn in rooms 15 (queen bed, jacuzzi) and 16 (king bed, two steps up to a shower). Both rooms were comfortable and well appointed; room 16 was definitely the bigger of the two rooms. Room 16... More

This was a wonderful surprise birthday trip for my husband. We hadn't stayed here before but it was a really sweet experience. The inn and adjacent buildings are comfortable and quaint. We were in the barn building. The king size bed was excellent, room clean and spacious. The bathroom could use some work, not too clean and not enough space... More

We have stayed at the MacCallum House close to a dozen times. The rooms are AMAZING! The beds are beyond plush and make it hard to tear yourself away to go explore Mendocino and all that it has to offer. My favorite rooms are in the barn and the coorporate suites. I'd look online at their website and do a... More

What a great way to experience my first visit to Mendocino! We bought the deal on Groupon or Living Social for a two night stay, including breakfast both mornings and some additional credit in the dining room. Our room was up in the suites - about 4 blocks up the road from the main house. The room was lovely -... More
