I stayed at the Mermaid Inn for just one evening when I didn't want to drive back to SF after a night of fun in Menlo Park. The hotel was clean and a little tired-looking, but c'mon it's only $75 per night. Check-in was fast and not friendly- but not unfriendly. There were two adorable dogs who greeted us as... More

For $80 a day - everyday - I had a recently renovated large room with comfy linens, soft towels, refrigerator, microwave, hairdryer, above average vanity lighting, wifi and continental breakfast. Also a super convenient location next to large supermarket, across the street from office supply and close to 2 Starbucks and other restaurants. I saved about 35 to 40% over... More

This property is being renovated, but the renovations are progressing slowly. If you ensure before you book that you'll get a fully-renovated room at the back of the hotel, then you should be pleasantly surprised by your stay. Be careful, though, because only a handful of rooms have been so renovated. Sure, rooms at the Mermaid Inn may be expensive... More

Exiled from my home because of extensive structure damage, i needed a convenient comfortable place to stay while reconstruction was going on. Got a room with a kitchenette and added the adjoining room for convenience. Both rooms were large and comfortable. Kitchenette had large fridge, two-burner flat-topped stove, stainless sink. A major advantage is the location. a huge Safeway is... More

I have stayed at the Mermaid Inn several times through out the year and have been content every single stay. The price for the rooms is well below that of neighboring hotels. The facility had seen several renovations of both rooms and exterior. Rooms 29 and 30 are gorgeously tiled and the wall painting while eco-friendly is also very soothing.... More

I came down here with my friend, who was taking a metal smithing course in the area. We drove down from Canada, and were very excited to spend some time in the area. Because of the long drive, we arrived late in the night; or rather early in the am. We had booked a room for that night and the... More

The price seemed fair until I seen the room! The beds are not queens. They are only full size. The photographer was great with photo shop. If u get what I mean. They were doing construction so the power kept going off and on. The light switch for the bathroom had a short. The door knob in the bathroom was... More

Stayed there for 3 days in April 2010. Given the cheap price everything was acceptable BUT several day after I left the hotel they(hotel managers) stolen USD100 from my credit card. They explained this by telling me that I've stolen towels from the room. Bottom line: never stay in this hotel.

I work in retail, so customer service is very important to me - not so to the staff of Mermaid Inn. I tried to send an email inquiry 3 times, but received no reply. I then tried to book online, waited a week for confirmation which never came, then had to make an international call to see what was going... More

The Mermaid Inn (the actual homepage is hiding under www.mermaidinnmotel.com) is a basic equiped hotel, with nice size rooms and a very convinient location. For the prize you pay you recieve a good value. Except a lot of other places there is no charge for wireless internet access. (However in some rooms the signal might be less good.) Especially for...
