Historic building with nicely updated rooms. The bar/restaurant/deck overlooking the bend in the river is very relaxing. The inn keepers are appropriately friendly and helpful. This is not a get-up-early-hit-the-road place with buffet breakfast at 0800. We were there early in the week. This is a sleepy, quiet out-of-the-way place. It is an entertainment and event venue, so check their... More

Staff very accommodating.. Sea food special very reasonably price and excellent. Home made Apple Strudel was very European and again excellent. Continental Breakfast included Quiche and warm bagels.. Setting of the Deck overlooking Russian River stunning. Rooms nice but old fashioned like one would expect from an Inn built at the turn of the century. We would go back if... More

Great little hotel. Took a river view room for $128 and it was good value. Comfortable beds, nice view, and a really wonderful breakfast. I suspect it would be a bit noisy if it was busy (it was almost empty when we visited) as the rooms are not terribly well soundproofed. Monte rio is a bit nil, not much to... More

The owners, Herb and Ingrid, are German expats that have made the Highland Dell their little alpine hotel. The friendly atmosphere, bar and restaurant more than make up for the "tiny" but well maintained rooms. The buffet breakfasts are really nice and when there aren't many people staying there, Herb will special order for you. The area is somewhat depressed... More

We stayed in two queen/balcony rooms for five days - a family holiday. We were the only people for four days during the week - it was like having our own home. Herb or Ingrid made breakfast each morning - eggs, bacon, bagels, english muffins, with a great selection of hot and cold cereals, juice, milk, coffee. They have a... More

This was a great hotel, they normally do not take new guest checking in on Wed but our travel dates changed and they allowed us to do so. We were the only guest in the whole hotel [we felt special]. The inn keeper was really friendly and made us a great breakfast the next morning. The rooms are small but... More

This hotel has much to recommend it--great location, charming building and rooms (if quite small), friendly staff. However, I couldn't help feeling that the hotel part of this lodge is a bit of an afterthought. There is a large restaurant attached with a bar, and often live music, and that absorbs the owners' and staffs' attention much of the time.... More

Rustic on the outside and regal on the inside with modern appointments. They have somehow managed simplistic elgance within this crisp bright Swiss Chalet style Inn. Wander about like it's you own home. Great dinner show with Barry "the Fish" Melton was just the start of my great stay. Good food and accommodations and I do mean accommodate...these folks know... We stayed here a couple of nights over a birthday weekend and it's a delightful place, away from the hustle and bustle of Guerneville but close enough to make it easy to strike out to Jenner or up river to Burke's to rent a canoe. Breakfast is easy and delightful and the restaurant serves a good German dinner -- not... More
