I drove through Dean Creek resort the night of sept 16th, 2012, looking for a group of friends camping there. I circled the place twice, stopping here and there to see if I could find my friends. After the second time, I sent a text to one and parked, waiting for the reply. Within a couple minutes a truck showed... More

Pros: Kind, knowledgeable, friendly staff Clean, shaded grounds Hot tub and pool Decently stocked frozen and dried goods camp store open 9 to 9 Lovely "glorified camping" cabins. Possible cons, though we didn't experience these: Crowded in-season Smokers I'm on a cross country trip with a friend, and we needed a place to sleep for one night on the road.... More

Of the five properties for lodging in the area, this is the ONLY ONE right on the river. Our dogs loved it and we were grateful that they were welcome. We appreciate that the owners are accommodating to try to meet your needs. Very cool that you have your choice of camp site, motel room, or "swanky" cabin! We hope... More

Our family of 5 camped in a tent for 5 nights. Ok, here is the good: pool, jacuzzi, ping pong, lots of kid activities, shady camp site, very helpful and friendly employees, very close to redwood walking trails. Here is the bad: camp sites/RV sites are VERY close together. Here is the ugly part: the hot water in the shower... More

We stayed for 1 night on a trip through town. There wasn't much choice in this town, so we ended up staying here. Pluses: very quiet, foresty, campground-style, cozy, nice people around, very nice owners, heating worked well (although rattled pretty loud at times). Minuses: very small, bit dirty feeling, found spiders and hairs in the bed, some walls have... More

I traveled with my 16 year old son and his friend. We stayed for two days. The place really is a resort, so much to do! We floated down the river, played minature golf went in giant Jacuzzi, and swam in the pool. We stayed in two of the cabins which is wonderful experience after staying in dingy motel rooms... More

Clean camp grounds, Easy access to the eel river where you can always find a secluded swimming hole. We felt very comfortableand look forward to coming back again. Close, but not to close to town

Located close to the dean creek, This property is located conveniently close to the avenue of the giants. Considering the array of amenities the value is exceptional. These include horshoes sauna whirlpool minigolf horshoes and a selection of grocery items. We are tent camping and think the setting is fine.

Reserved through what I thought was their website which it wasn't and I was overcharged and instead of the cabin I requested I ended up in one of the dirty rooms and I was basically told by the manager to take a hike if I didn't like it. It is a 1940 era motel with threadbare sheets, mold in the... More

This little strip hotel is tucked practically under the Avenue of the Giants. In fact, a drive-through tree ($6.00 charge) is very nearby. It looks very ordinary on the outside. However, the rooms, which are standard budget hotel rooms, are decorated with Waverly or Waverly type fabrics, and are pleasing. There is a little store here with only essentials. There... More
