What a wonderful place! Historical, right in the heart of downtown SLO and within walking distance to all of the shops and nightlife. The staff is friendly and warm, the ambiance inviting, and the decor and details were great as well.

A true landmark Victorian style hotel. High ceilings, clawfoot tub (that has hot water), great beads and very nice touches all around. And it is within walking distance of all the attractions of downtown San Luis Obispo.
I am in town taking a class, and my boyfriend wanted to come visit me for the weekend. We were a bit caught off-guard by how difficult it was to find a place with any vacancy, and prices for even the crummy places seemed high. I am SO glad there was a room available at the Garden Street Inn. It's...

We had a good time and enjoyed our stay. But... in our (Field of Dreams) room, it was evident that no one had dusted for quite a while. (Can't put that one past a woman... my wife, at least! She was right... after she said something about it, I began to notice the dust.) Also, my bath towel had a...

I stayed two times in July in two different rooms. Both were upstairs and faced the street or another building. There was more than adequate light into the rooms, as well as plenty of cool, fresh air. No need for the A/C.
I dealt with 5 different staff total and all were very helpful with special requests regarding food, housekeeping,...

Me and all my family and friends just stayed at the inn. My daughter was getting married and we rented the whole place out. John and all the staff are met all our expectations! Breakfast was awesome. The location is perfect for exploring downtown. Thurs. night is Farmers market, very fun! Was our second time staying, will be back!
The house was nice although the shower in our room was primitive, the manager was friendly the breakfast was good, but the neighborhood was noisy. And while we were given so-so chocolate chip cookies when we left I missed not having wine and cheese served in the evening as is done at may other B&Bs
I was staying with a group of friends for a wedding. The weather wouldn't cooperate, but the staff more than made up for it. The wedding was moved to the Inn, it was lovely. The staff bent over backwards to make it all work. I can't imagine how it all could have happened anywhere else.
We took a quick break up to San Luis Obispo and stayed with John and the folks at the Garden Street Inn. Everything was terrific during our entire stay. And all of the staff were friendly and nice.
The room was comfortable and clean and located right off the main parlor. There were no noise issues even with that location....
