My wife and I stayed here based upon the price, and because they are pet-friendly. However, our smoking room was definitely smoked in recently, as evidenced by the cigarette burn on our blanket. The room was also tiny, with a rough, low-grade towel, and soap only (no shampoo, conditioner, or lotion) in the bathroom. The morning coffee was mediocre and... More

Stayed here because needed a motel during a bball tourny. Santa Barbara is so overpriced! Picked this when because if price and reviews. Was a little bit worried when we pulled in. It is definitely nothing to look at from the outside. But we were able to check right in. Everyone was super friendly, even the housekeepers were greeting us.... More

Manager was great with check-in! The hotel is in a great location and was a great price for 1 night in a Queen room in SB. Easy drive to downtown state street and East Beach. The comforter was stained in several spots and the floors had grounded-in smudges. Mattress was comfy and the shower/water pressure was fantastic. No fridge, wifi... More

Well, I agree with the other traveler that said that Santa Barbara is pricey. This one is one of the cheapest in the area. This part of State Street is far away from the beach. In the area there are a lot of restaurants and other services and amenities, such as gas stations, stores, pharmacies... There is no breakfast, only... More

It's one of the cheaper options in Santa Barbara, but it has it's drawbacks. Its a couple of miles away from the centre and you need to take the car there. And of course there is no breakfast, wifi costs extra and no hairdryer in the room. On the other hand the room is clean, so not to bad either.

Motel 6 is not the place that I would normally stay at but we wanted to spend 4 days in Santa Barbara and weren't looking to spend a lot. The location on State Street up near the La Cumbe mall was very convenient. There were great restaurants closeby in both directions including two "best of" winners, Jeannines and Flavor of... More

We stayed here for 1 night in Sep 2011 as part of our trip down the Pacific Coast Highway. The room was reasonably furnished but very small and with a general lack of care - for example there was a cigarette burn in the bed cover. The price was not bad for Santa Barbara but expensive compared to almost every... More

Staying at this hotel in May was like coming a full circle for me. I first stayed here over 10 years ago when I was just starting grad school at UCSB and looking for a place to live. It was nice to be able to get away and revisit this property. I've stayed at a variety of hotels in SB... More

"Budget-friendly" for Santa Barbara, that is--but if you're going to Santa Barbara, you'd best be prepared for that. The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, and the location was terrific, with multiple local restaurants within walking distance. One thing: I wish that they'd bundle the wireless access cost into the room if you're staying more than a couple of... More

We had a choice of rooms upon arrival. The room itself was a fair size and the bathroom was clean and big enough. There was no free wifi so we paid the $3 for 24 hour use and were given a password that could only be used once so only one of our phones could access it. There are many... More
