We’ve stayed at the San Ysidro Ranch three times in the last year, and something extremely upsetting happened on our last stay. We went there three times, trying to re-cature our first time experience last year. A hotel like this should be able to accommodate our special needs for physical disabilities – they were able to meet them once. Within... More

We take any constructive and legitimate sentiments expressed by our guests in a serious, thoughtful way. On a very rare occasion, our resort may not be suitable for a particular set of needs. We of course regret that, but promise to redouble our efforts to ensure wonderful visits for all of our guests. Sincerely, Joshua Schaeffer Guest Relations Manager San... More

From the moment you start up the drive up the lavender and olive tree lined entry drive, you know you are somewhere special. An incredible Santa Barbara setting tucked st the base of incredible coastal mountians provides the backdrop for beautifully appointed cottages. Fine restaurant on the property and incredible gardens. Make sure to get dinner reservations when you book... More

Had a phenomenal dinner on the deck. We had the chef's tasting menu paired wine. Every pairing was spot on and the amibance was awesome. We will definitely be back! Pricey and worth every penny.

We stayed at the san ysidro ranch on a honeymoon trip down the west coast of america. It was a while back but we have wonderful memories of the property. It feels almost like you are staying in someone's house, and also feels very secluded from the main santa barbara area which is only a hop away. The whole property... More

I stayed at the four seasons but had dinner here. I would say overall if you don't mind not being on the ocean this is the place. The property is fabulous and the restautant over the top excellent. My next trip to Santa Barbara I will stay here.

I'm planning trips for 2012, and while reflecting on where I visited in 2011, San Ysidro Ranch comes to mind. It's easy to see why Travel + Leisure Magazine listed it as the #1 US location in its annual "World's Best Awards" issue. The setting is gorgeous among the foothills above Montecito, overlooking the Pacific in the distance. There is... More

Travelling from the UK, and not knowing California at all, we really struggled to find quality places to stay on our trip from LA to SF. However, the San Ysidro Ranch was a brilliant find and we really loved our 4 nights here. The ranch is not too large to be impersonal and the way the rooms/suites are placed around... More

The cottages are romantic, the fireplace, the splash pool, the terrace, they have all the trimmings. They are carefully maintained, even if it was a couple of years since the major renovation all is still in mint condition. The garden and the restaurant is on the same level. Food is good, service is attentive and professional. The al fresco dining experience... More
