We stayed 2 nights in may 2013, our room was 11on the second floor (note there are no lifts so be prepared to carry your luggage up one flight of stairs) Great king size bed with lovely soft cotton sheets and comfy pillows. Family-run, small, simple and cordial. Very well located outside of downtown Santa Monica -- but extremely close to beach, restaurants, small shops. I like to walk so this spot was perfect. Let me say Ive stayed here before and although its a great location, the owners had better beware to get off their butts and do a better job of taking care of business or they will see how fast they fall... The bedding and the rooms are outdated...Our room could use some paint and a bit of plumbing and bedding..... More

Only a block back from the beach, great location. Room was clean & spacious. Reception staff helpful and friendly. Loved our time at Santa Monica, the panini cafe down the road did beautiful breakfasts. Only complaint was the toilet didn't flush too well and got blocked over overflowed one of the days. Small family run hotel, fenced in parking with limited access and no daily fee, excellent place to stay, very clean, convenient to restaurants, buses, grocery stores, beach & bike path. Great price, awesome staff and the rooms were massive and clean with a great bed. Good coffee shop at the front. Will definitely be our go to place in LA. Stayed here for 2 nights and was impressed by the great location 5 mins to beach and 10 minutes to 3rd st promenade.
