We stayed here for skiing at the Palisades over the MLK holiday weekend. The price was outrageous (our fault for booking late), and for that amount we should have received a lot more in terms of the quality of accommodation and amenities. The location is good, 20 minutes to the Palisades and right next to Kings Beach and 10 minutes or so from Tahoe City, where you can find restaurants and such. The room was clean and had a microwave and fridge, but kind of tight for 3 people. The walls are cinder block and the bathroom looked like something at a rest stop. There is no daily maid service nor service in the front office. I guess there's a number you can call if there was a problem. We thought there was a hot tub, but that was empty.

Leah is a lifesaver! After forgetting my snowboard boots in the room Leah did me a HUGE favor by personally delivering them to the mountain I'll be at on an upcoming trip. So nice of her. I highly recommend Tahoe Vistana Inn.

Stayed for 2 nights. Very clean, takes well behaved dogs. Front desk people are nice, but not very accomodating. Asked for late checkout in the middle of the week on Jan 2 when only 1/2 of the rooms were taken-was told only 1 hour extra because they were booked??? No cable tv, just local tv channels, fridge, microwave and coffee maker. House cleaning states every 3 days, but knocks on your door every morning at 9am! Then on day of check out when we were at breakfast at 8 am housekeeping came in while we had the do not disturb sign on and changed the towels! If you want privacy, go elsewhere. The hot tub, is just that, an old round plastic tub of hot water with bright lights blasting down...we passed.

Hi Nicole! Thank you for the feedback! During your stay with us, we were in a holiday period and were completely sold-out. We tried to accommodate as many early check-ins and late check-outs as possible, during our 2nd busiest time of the year. We are one of the few dog-friendly properties, and after each canine departure there is a deep cleaning and everything is laundered and handled on a more time-consuming level for the comfort of the next guest. We apologize for the inconvenience. Staff is on-site 24 hours a day for any needs that a guest may have, and requests are handled within moments, at any time of the day or night. We have discussed this review with our housekeeping staff, and we will aim to better ourselves and our property for future guests. Thank you Nicole!

Very basic lodging, thin camp style shower with little water pressure but at least the water was hot. There was no AC, but a fan was in the closet. If you opened the screens for air you could hear the traffic noise so it was hard to regulate the varying temperatures in the room. There was no clock in the room; the in room coffee was not great and their coffee in the tiny lobby, (which was only open after 9am) was nothing special. They did offer a small grocery store type muffin, but after 9am. Our room was on the back side and upstairs of the not fancy office. I think the photos of the place were very deceiving. The young women at the lobby desk were very pleasant and helpful. I only wish that whoever ran the vacuum cleaner would have waited until at least 8am. It was quite loud. They have SUPs and 2 kayaks to use but you have to cross a very busy highway to get to the water (no beach) access plus I don’t think any rooms had even a water view. Quite pricey for what you get.

Response from Tahoe V, Guest Relations Manager at Tahoe Vistana Inn

Hi Kelley! Thank you for the feedback, and we appreciate the details!  We are very sorry that the accommodations were not what was expected.  We highly recommend that guests call us to discuss the room type, location and amenities for their reservation.  The Standard King that was reserved is one of our most affordable options, but we do have Deluxe accommodations that offer granite finishes, lake views, some include full kitchens, as well as larger suites that can sleep up to 8.  We are always happy to discuss what is available.   We do have an older Tahoe style, relishing in the 1960's construction.  We have updated many of the rooms under the new ownership, and we will continue to upgrade the accommodations and details.  We offer local coffee in the office, assorted teas, lemon water and house-made muffins in the morning.  Our office is not fancy, but more rustic, and includes complimentary beach chairs, board games, local newspapers and all of the insider information for hikes and adventures.  We also offer complimentary cruiser bicycles, paddle boards and kayaks for guest use, as well as high-speed WiFi, a pool and hot tub, a fire pit area and access to the lake directly across the street.  Our goal is never to have a guest be left unsatisfied, and we pride ourselves in being very upfront and honest about our property, amenities and accommodations.  If a guest is looking for a lake front experience, we are more than happy to recommend other local venues that may better suit their expectations.  We focus on a low price point, even with the high summer demand in the North Lake Tahoe area, and we do not charge a resort or service fee at our property.   Our guests are our most helpful source of feedback, and we will continue to outline details of our property in a more clear manner for our future guests! Thank you Kelley!

We spent one night prior to doing a college tour visit at Sierra Nevada College. We stayed in a room with a king size bed and a bunk bed in a smaller separate room connected to the main room. The room was very clean and spacious. The room was located in the middle of the hotel complex so we didn’t hear any street noise and had a great night sleep. Patio door was a little difficult to operate but it looks like they are in the process of changing them so this would no longer be an issue. Staff is very friendly. No breakfast but lots of places close by for full breakfast or just coffee and pastries.

We were in room 139, one of the deluxe rooms in the Squirrel House. A great view of the mountains and the lake! The room was clean, the beds comfortable, and the heater quiet! Kitchen and bath were lovely! Two complaints, was the first night the person below us had his TV on all night, the TV's in this room and the one below are at an angle in a corner above a piece of furniture, this meant that in the room below the TV was almost at our floor. We did ask him to turn it down at night and he did, as long as we were quiet as well. As mentioned in other reviews, the walls are THIN! The other issue of this room is that you can smell cigarette smoke, probably left over from the smoking days, but it is still very musty smelling, I bought air freshener to help, but all our clothes had to be washed when we got home. We would definitely stay again, the staff was wonderful and very helpful, we were there for a wedding and had many guests stay there as well, all were happy.

Hi! Thank you for the feedback! We loved having your group stay with us, and we are so glad that it worked out with the wedding guests staying nearby the venue! We are so incredibly sorry about the cigarette smell in the room. Our property hasn't had smoking rooms at any time under the current owners, for the past six years. We will investigate who stayed prior as well as remedy the situation immediately, as we pride ourselves on having all non-smoking accommodations for our guests. Please do let us know if we can reimburse you for the air freshener or laundry. We appreciate your business, and we hope to see you again soon!

There were so many great things about this little inn. Check in was easy, office area great and they have muffins, cookies and fruit. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable, everything worked well. Used the hot tub in the morning, was nice and quiet. Appreciated the microwave, coffee maker and fridge. Bathrooms were a little dated but clean and working! Front desk had anything else I needed - hair dryer, hot tub towel, and utensils. Good location for Northstar, and an easy drive to Tahoe City or Incline Village. Only thing was the walls were thin if you shared a wall with another unit (I was in 123). I don’t think the neighbors were being loud but still had to ask them to keep it down because it sounded like they were in the same room as me. Would go back, just hope for a room with thicker walls :)

Due to blizzard conditions in tahoe we were trapped and searched through 10 different hotels before finding this one. Katie was super helpful showing us where to park even though the weather was crazy at 8:30pm at night. She helped us find a place to get something to eat and got my cousin and I into the last room available. This hotel was really nice, very lodge-like. Room was really clean, bed was comfortable, heater and TV worked great, and good water pressure in the shower. Would definitly stay here again no matter what time of year. Thanks again Katie for making our unexpected weekend trip better.
