One of the worst overnight experiences I've ever had. They are a completely non smoking facility, not tobacco, vapes, or MMJ at all on the grounds. There hot tubs are impropriety wired and will not get hotter than 90 degrees. No matter the issues around have no fear, you are completely on your own. The owners told us they have 15 airbnbs they manage and it was too overwhelming. We had issues from the start of our stay, everything from lack of dog friendliness, non smoking signs that are completely passive aggressive with no word prior that you are visiting a non smoking facility. The rules inside don't even mention that you cannot smoke on the facility. Needless to say aside from having Covid-19 during our stay and the host being completely unresponsive to any issues that we had. They had construction workers working on the cabins behind us during the day, 8 hour shifts with super thin walls. The quite hours are a joke 9pm-8am with a Bar right across the road that has live music and is open until 1am. We literally heard the people across the road every night we stayed. When we brought up too many issues with our host eventually they flipped out and texted us that we needed to vacate the property due to non compliance issues. (We have 3 very small dogs) Scott and Sherry claimed we never mentioned or payed a pet fee. Oddly enough we still had our airbnb message where the very first thing we did prior to being approved was mentioned that we had 3 dogs and wanted to stay with our family for Christmas week. We made it 3 of our 6 nights before we were fed up with these people! First they accused us of the dogs, when we could prove that we did in fact mention the dogs upon first introductions, they started to say we had illegal drugs and were using them on the premises. I have my Medical Card for MMJ and I had a joint after tripping on there jagged steps leading down to the tiny patch of grass they call the dog friendly area . We brought up that when we booked, and on the airbnb house rules no mentioning of non smoking was ever brought up. We only ever smoked outside on the patio. Do yourself a huge favor and find yourself somewhere else to stay, even if its more costly or less fancy. I promise you this place will disappoint you tremendously! Really look at and read there reviews. We are not the first people to have issues with these folks. After we left Sherri and Scott proceeded to continue to message us as if the event of them flipping out on us never happened, they denied our request for a refund and sabotaged thier own property as an attempt to make us look bad and get as much money from us as possible. We are not silly however and we made sure to take videos and pictures of everything and how we left it anticipating that they are shady businesses owners. Oddly enough they blamed us for smoking inside thier cottage saying that we left windows open and cheap air freshers to cover our tracks(the air freshners we used upon leaving we're the ones left left inside the cabin for cleaning) Scott and Sherri also claimed we had left their heaters on during this period. (We left them at 60 degrees which I thought was polite being a poorly insulated wooded cabin in December) I'm not all negativity here though, I will say the Food across the road from here. In particularly The Blue Moose Lounge has amazing food! Live music and good beer selections.

We had the best time! Wonderful views, great hosts, no complaints! We had 24 people and had plenty of room. The cabins were well stocked and the kids loved the hot tubs. The park across the street was so much fun and we were able to fish.

The cottages are dated, log-type cabins on the steep slope a hill. The cottage we stayed in was 53 steps from bottom to top. It was clean, sort of comfortable and pleasant, especially the night air. Not air conditioned, no shampoo or hair dryer and none available. The cottage had a fan and did cool off in the evening but hot during the day (mid-June). The hot tub was nice, especially after a day of hiking. Across the street is a nice restaurant, a delicious breakfast spot (The pantry) beside the creek and a saloon (bar, beer joint), something for everyone. It's decent, personal and private.

We rented the treehouse for a couple of nights and absolutely loved it. While it is a "trek" to get to the treehouse it's worth it once you get there. Very nice size for a couple or a small family. Had everything that you would need for a great stay.

We had the best time ever! There were 16 of us and we stayed in The Lodge #7 & 9B. Could have used 1 more bedroom but it worked out fine. The Breakfast buffet across the street was 😋 delicious! This was our 4th visit to the Colorado Springs area, 1st at Lakeside Cottages. We'd definitely stay again. The cottage needed some updates but very comfortable! The views were great and the hiking was a must.

We loved the Lakeside Cottage Tree House we stayed in last week!!! Amazing view! The tree house was clean, roomy, and well equipped (full kitchen with china and silverware, outdoor chairs, grill, patio table, iron, extra blankets, tv, cable, wi-fi, lots of towels, and even a few walking sticks to choose from. No need for daily room service here. We loved the trails behind the tree house that took us all the way to the top of the mountain. The dirt road is steep but doable even in a front wheel drive sedan. Already looking forward to our next visit!

The cabin we stayed in was the "Tree Top". We arrived around 3 p.m. and when we opened the cabin the smell was terrible. We opened the windows and aired it out. We were going to stay 2 nights but 1 night was all we could handle. The smell was more than we could handle. There was also bugs and spiders. The loft had dirty sheets. We had to keep the luggage zipped and slept with the lights on. My daughter was bit by something during the stay. Needless to say we were out of there early the next morning. The person at the office was informed about the smell and bugs. She said she had sprayed before we got there. The smell was moth balls and a skunk that had sprayed. She said she would see about refunding the 2nd night but that never happened.

Since October 2014 we have stayed in 3 different cabins for 4 month long stays and have never been disappointed. The Rockhound is a quaint 2 bedroom that was great for the 3 of us and we were able to accommodate 4 adults, a teenager, a toddler, and an infant for 4 days and nights comfortably. The Bufflao has been home to our family twice and each time there were 3-7 of us at a time. The views from the Bufflao my favorite from the hot tub or the upper balcony. The staff is wonderful and have become like family to us. They make our stays there like home. The town is quaint, the Blue Moose Tavern across the street has terrific food and a wonderful staff. We have had many wonderful times there. The Pantry is great and we have always enjoyed having breakfast or hot chocolate while enjoying the park or lake. We enjoy hiking the beautiful trails behind the cabin. We get so much fun exercise when we visit something we don't get in Texas. In 2007 we made a family trip to Colorado and found this hidden gem and fell in love. In December 2013 we were not able to stay at the cottages and vowed our next trip we would. Thankfully we were able to stay our next trip. We can't move there soon enough!

This is the second time we have stayed here. Nice comfortable cabin. Is was fairly secluded. Close to towns and conveniences. The cabins have all of the basics, all you need to bring is the food and your toiletries.
