This is a horrible place. Unless you want to listen to drunken karoke or horrible bands that echo throughout the entire town. Dolores is a sweet quiet town. Except when this establishment cranks up the karoke loud enough to echo off the cliffs of this nice little river town. The idea of eating there is horrifying to me. The last... More

I read the previous reviews and was somewhat leary to stay here but the charm called me in! I travel often and was sooo impressed with this bed and breakfast...WARNING: DON'T EXPECT Don't expect a brand new, evrything in place, perfect chain type hotel. It was true to life, an old place with a laid back feeling to it. There... More

Driving through Dolores, CO on a late Saturday morning, we are looking for a place to have breakfast when we run into this two story structure bearing an impressive sign: SOUTHERN HOTEL, it says, "on the national register of historical places, built 1893". All kind of signs surround the historical plate, advertising beer, bar, restaurant, breakfast, lunch, diner and even... More

The webpage looked good, but we were very disappointed. We stayed here in June 2010 as part of a 4-day bike loop through the San Juans. Due to River Festival, everywhere else in town was booked. Had we known what the place looked like in real life, we would definitely have booked at the Schoolhouse B&B outside town and sucked... More

As I'm sitting on the bed in my room at the Rio Grande Southern B & B, I decided to go ahead and rate this property...upon arrival, we were greeted warmly, and checked in. The room was as promised, super large en-suite bathroom and very comfortable bed. The owner Suzi is a hard-working woman, obviously loves what she does, and... More

It was my birthday and we stayed at this lovely B£B. Susie, the lovely owner, had a rose waiting for me. The room was grorgously decorated and I felt like a princess staying there. Had our own bathroom with wonderful shampoos and nice smelling lotions. We had a yummy German dinner there too. Really enjoyed the small town feel of... More

I was hesitant because there wasn't much info about the Rio Grande Southern on-line but my son lives in Mancos and he said the locals highly recommend it. It was the perfect place for me to stay and the prices were reasonable. The restaurant was wonderful. They are becoming known for their Friday night fish frys.Breakfast was awesome as well.... More

We had reservations but after seeing their less than clean and tidy restroom and viewing the lobby/living area with two large dogs and an abundance of dog hair everywhere we opted to cancel our reservations (without hassle which we appreciated) and go on to Rico. We had been looking forward to our stay and were shocked at the condition in... More

Rio Grande Southern Hotel Bed & Breakfast is the second oldest building in Dolores, Colorado. The accomodating couple running the B&B are terrific - - clean rooms, awesome food (restaurant downstairs), totally historic - - everything you could ask for in a B&B! We'll be back any time we're in Colorado. Don't stay at a national chain hotel in Cortez... More
