Im sitting in my office in Midtown Manhattan in the middle of December looking at photos from the ranch this summer and feeling warm despite the chilly winter weather. Friendly and accomodating staff, Spectacular location, fun and tailored activities.... I don't have a bad thing to say about this place!

My husband and I live in Colorado and we went to WTR this summer with our 3 year old daughter. I love horses and my husband had ridden once before. By the end of the week, he was way more into horses than I've ever been. My daughter had a small group for the kid's camp, but luckily there was... More

With the exception of Jan, the female half of the proprietorship who was on occasion, capriciously rude and unwelcoming, the staff at WTR was really quite wonderful, providing me with an experience of a liftetime. It is because of her unwarranted hostility that I cannot in good conscience give the totality of the experience the 5 Stars I would, otherwise,... More

This was an interesting and exciting week though I personally prefer to be in mixed company. Still, I enjoyed the experience and enjoyed being pampered by the staff. The food was fabulous and the Thursday evening dance was lots of fun. And, the guests were a fun mix of adventurous women. At one point during one of my morning walks... More

I went on this vacation alone but left with new friends from CO, TX, WI, Australia and the UK. The wranglers (modern day cowboys) know what they're doing and introduced us to their culture (riding, roping, wrangling, trailblazing and horsemanship). Although I hadn't ridden in years, my skills soared with their guidance. The program began with scenic walks and arena... More

The current stellar reviews of WTR are exactly right. The vibe was like joining some favorite relatives at their awesome ranch and having no responsibilities. The horses were beautifully trained and perfectly assigned. During my stay, the trail rides and cattle working sessions were in small groups each arranged by skill level. Then it was cocktail time in the saloon,... More

We could not have picked a better place to fulfill my wife"s "bucket list" dream. We can't say enough about the staff, not only were they very knowledgeable and excellent teachers, they were just fun to be around. Having never been to CO, we both were in awe with the views from everywhere. The accommodations, food, and and atmosphere of... More

Wilderness Trails hosted our Leadership Retreat for 20 people and made the success of it! The staff was so welcoming and accomodated any need that we had. The facilities were comfortable and charming; giving us a feel from being away from the outside world but yet, still provided us the technology and tools to create a positive learning environment. Every... More

Bottom Line Up Front - Outstanding property, Superlative Staff, Outstanding Food, and a Perfect Stay. We both have traveled the world from Fairbanks to Christchurch, Seoul to Sidney, Kabul to Santiago, Bora Bora to Jaipur and nowhere did we find a bunch of more personable hosts that we discovered at this ranch north of Durango, Colorado. My DW and I... More

Just finished another wonderful week at Wilderness Trails. This is the fourth year that my two grandchildren (age 10 and 15), my daughter (who is disabled) and I have been there. As usual it was a wonderful time. Terrific cabins, incredible food. Great wranglers who are always fun and accommodating. And really good horses. It is an incredibly beautiful area.... More
