These are my standards for inexpensive hotels. Both met, plus the new managers are very nice, attentive and helpful. Micro and fridge in the room. Tea, oatmeal and fruit in the morning, quiet in the evening. What more could you want?

Under new Management since Sept 2011. Denise and Travis are good people. They will make your stay very comfortable. I even ate Thanks Giving dinner with them. They made it for everyone staying with them in the motel. The Motel is about 6 blocks from downtown and there is a trolley pickup right in front if you don't want to...

I made reservation about a week ahead of time. I had had mixed results with Knight's Inns. This showed up as the cheapest of the "Chains" so I went with it. it was $89 so I had certain non-lofty expectations: Clean, and not scary.
While it was free of loose dirt, the room just had that poorly remodeled look that...

This motel is worse than a run down 40 year old motel 6. They keep changing the name. It used to be the dollar inn, then the Abbey inn, soon to be the knight inn. They keep changing the name but not the quality. An old window AC unit stuck in the wall, a 30 year old tv, mismatched beds, stains...

Abbey inn was very poor and it didn't provide many things that it said it would. For example, they said they would provide breakfast, but all there was, was a couple pieces of bread and coffee. There wasn't even juice or cereal!! Breakfast was just really limited. The room was clean, but the pillows weren't comfy at all and they...

We stayed at the Abbey for one night in June of 2011. I expected a discount motel that was clean and friendly.
The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. He gave us useful information on taking the free bus to and from the motel to downtown. The lobby had complimentary doughnuts and coffee.
The room was pretty much as...

Good location, comfortable room, great price but best of all the folks hear are wonderful. Very much recommend Abbey Inn if you in Durango.
On a whim we stopped at the Durango Abbey Inn for a one-evening stay. From the outside the motel is unspectacular, the pavement and walkways need attention. We asked about a room, were quoted a fair price and we asked to look at the room. Upon entering the room our hesitance was belayed. The room was ample, perhaps spacious for...

I decided to stay the night in Durango, instead of pushing on further. I stopped at a hotel I had used many times in the past, the rates were outrageous. I checked a few others with similar results. I came upon the Abbey Inn, I recalled this hotel as one some friends had stayed in before. I was greeted, given...
