I've stayed at the Leland House twice, and have no complaints at all. The rooms are well decorated, well appointed, and have a lot of nice features. The hall walls are decorated with posters from movies filmed in Durango and other memorabilia, and there's a cookie jar filled with homemade goodies! The location is just off the main drag downtown,... More

We stayed two nights in room number 8, a queen suite, upstairs with three rooms. The living area that had a pull out sofa, the kitchen withe fridge, stove, sink, coffee pot, the bedroom and bathroom. The room was perfect. It was quiet, we didn't hear other guests, ever. The bed was comfortable, I brought my own pillow. The shower... More

We had the great pleasure of staying in a suite at the Leland House during our recent trip to Durango. The suite was lovely, sunny, bright and clean. The bed was very comfortable, and we had a great night's sleep. The living room/t.v. area was separated from the bedroom and bathroom by the kitchen, which had a two-person table where... More

From the moment we checked in the staff was courteous and accommodating. We came up for a boarding trip but loved that this place is in the middle of downtown which allowed us to wander the shops while not riding. The breakfasts were delicious and the breakfast bar had an amazing homemade granola and a delicious homemade granola. The rooms... More

Our second stay at the Leland House and we still love it. The rooms are comfortable and very clean, and the staff is welcoming and helpful. The best part of the Leland House is the breakfast served in the Rochester lobby: generous and delicious. The location is just a few blocks from Durango's best restaurants and the Animas River Trail... More

The best part of the Leland House (besides breakfast!) was their free bikes. We biked along the Animas River Walk - great fun! The rooms are themed based on movies filmed or famous people in the Durango area. We were in the Max Baer room complete with photos and a pair of his fighting gloves (Baer was a famous fighter... The Leland House and Rochester Hotel are such great bed and breakfast properties. We just spent our 6th stay there. Our son goes to school in Durango so we visit a couple times a year. What a perfect place to stay. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The rooms are all unique (we like #11) and kept spotless. The... More

Just returned from three nights at the Lealand (Sept. 19 - 21 2011) in suite #3 and it was fantastic. For those reviews I have read with negative comments about this hotel, all I can say is they don't get out very often. This suite was large and comfortable. Full of charm and if folks would only realize this is... More

We stayed here three days while visiting Durango this past week. We booked the Queen Suite thinking that it would be a larger size than a room. My mistake. This room was so small we could hardly move around in it. The "kitchenette" included a small refrig, small coffee pot and a sink. The only redeeming quality to this room... More

We would like to clarify this review a little further. The room this reviewer stayed in was a Queen Studio, not a Queen Suite as stated. The Queen Studios are our coziest style of rooms and we do try to explain this when people make reservations over the phone. The Queen Suites DO have a kitchen, with an electric range,... More

I don't recommend the one bedroom suites for more than two as they are small and accessing the bathroom through the bedroom is awkward. Window view is of a brick building. But the 2 bedroom Pitman Suite is more than comfortable with room to spare! Nicely updated while keeping old-world charm. Kitchen large enough to cook a gourmet meal, roomy... More
