I stay for 2 days the hotel was clean not bad but too much noice from cars and people outside wifi not open for all the rooms
My husband and I recently stayed at this hotel while backpacking around America. We are used to basic accommodation and are not picky people but this hotel was an exception. Our room was semi clean apart from the black hairs in our bed- probably what you'd expect for around $60 a night. The real issue for us was the treatment...

I am the manager of Spanish Trails. I remember these guests due to the fact that they
accused my staff of stealing from them. The true story: these guests checked out and left.
The housekeeping staff entered their room after they were gone and cleaned out their room and refrigerator. The items that they claimed were stolen were food items...

This is a cheap place to stay therefore don't expect a five star hotel. Motel was clean for the most part and air cond and cable tv worked fine.
Some rooms smelt smoke, wifi is weak. But don't try to get help from the manager if you are not native English speaker.. I feel humiliated!
This was an Asian gentlemen who spoke little English. He did not understand the protocol of staying at an American hotel I think. He didn't understand that our policy is to pay before you stay. He stayed at our establishment for 5 days I believe and was very frustrated that he had to keep paying each day. I informed him...

We where driving throw Durango searching for an hotel. We saw the sign outside and from outside the hotel looks oke. The lady at the frontdesk was not that nice, but oke the room was for a good rate ($40). Maybe this should have been the first sign of not sleeping here...
The room smells horrible, stains everywhere, even on...

I am the new manager of Spanish Trails. I regret this traveler had this experience at our hotel. I have addressed this rude staff issue and that person is no longer employed. She did not reflect the values and service to our customers we strive to achieve. I have also begun to address the maintenance issues mentioned here and assure...

For the price, what do you expect, the Hôtel Metropole Monte-Carlo? The proprietors are friendly, but if you're going to sleep in a bit, you might inform housekeeping the day before or leaving a note on the door, as they may arrive prior to check-out time. Beyond that, they are friendly and cooperative as well. There's a City Market and...

This hotel is one of the stops for the trolley that we took to the train station. The room was clean, the bed didn't hurt my back, and the price was reasonable, around $69 for a double. The parking was cramped, and some motorcyclers were noisy, and the receptionist was dense. I asked her three times to recommend a restaurant...

I've stayed off and on at the Spanish Trails since it opened back in the Sixties. At that time it was one of Durango's premier motels/hotels. The years have not been kind to this place, one reason being, it was among the largest of Durango's early hostelries along US550, so they have greater upkeep expenses.
I stayed here about four...

We should have stayed anywhere else. There was a large amount of dripping blood that had been painted over - the grey spatter marks still showed through the paint - and it was dark rust colored where it had dripped into the floor heater in the bathroom. AC was very noisy, but worked. Road noise was terrible. Bed was hard,...

I stayed one night in the spanish trails inn hotel for one night in august. One night was more than enough!
I am selecting my hotels carefully following tripadvisor reviews and I must admit this experience the worse hotel of the trip. SO knowing that this hotel is ranked 14 in Durango is a complete mystery AND SHAME. Such a...
