I am usually stressed out after a long drive, and can not handle someone being rude at check in…This place offers a friendly at home atmosphere, convenience being right across the street from a grocery store for those small inconveniences I forgot at home and normally have to drive around lost looking for before everything closes. Rooms are a little outdated, but I would take that any day over some of the ridiculous surprise 250 dollar deposit other places do not warn you about when looking for the most inexpensive room. Our family had a wonderful experience. You get a little bit of Texas hospitality in a part of Colorado that locals are kinda rude to out of towners.

Room stunk and was full of bugs. Only 1 small bar of soap for 2 people for 2 days. When we asked for a second bar of soap the gal in the office threatened to call the cops and have us evicted. Floors were so dirty our feet were black. No housekeeping and no drinking cups in room. If you can not supply the necessities and clean the rooms you have no business being in business in the first place let alone start making threats for asking for those necessary items.

I received an email from Spanish Trails asking for a review after my stay. I made 2 attempts at trying to submit the review, INVALID. My guess is as long as I checked NO I would not recommend, it was rejected. When I checked YES on the 3rd try, it was accepted! Go figure! My adult Daughter and I stayed here Sept. 6, 2021. When I called to book the room I was told we would be in one of the renovated rooms. That sounded great! However, it wasn't that great! Pro: Microwave and nice refrigerator and freezer. Cons: The spiders were a real problem. I killed several in the closet and then found more in the bathroom! The floors were dirty and dusty. There was trash and dirt under the bed and behind the night stands. The bathtub and tile had been painted over in large sections. You could see the turquoise tile underneath from where the paint was chipping off. The soap holder handle was broken off, ceiling and wall around shower was peeling from water damage, a large square of tile replaced around the tub fixtures that didn't match the rest of the tile, looking rather tacky and needed to be re-caulked. The window AC was really loud but it cooled the room. No tissues in the bathroom. Not enough towels, 2 thin, rough and old feeling. I would not recommend staying here especially for the $150.00 price!

The Spanish Trails Motel leaves much to be desired. The room had a smoke smell, the bathtub was improperly cleaned and was covered with a gritty film, the garbage disposal was frozen and unusable, kitchenette sink nearly clogged and very slow draining, the entry door was misaligned and could not be opened without excessive force. When we checked in, we were billed immediately for the two-night stay. No problem there. The next day, there was an arbitrary charge for an additional single night stay. We have tried multiple times through voicemail, an email and three actual phone conversations to get this issue resolved. The young lady we spoke with all three times was frankly quite rude and dismissive and even hung up on us once. Frankly, it feels like we're being stone-walled. I doubt very much that they ever intend to refund this additional night charge. We finally had to dispute it through our credit card company. I wouldn't stay there ever again under any circumstances nor could I ever in good conscience recommend that anyone else ever stay here...ever! I would rather sleep in my car. At least I know it's clean.

We had the exact same experience as another reviewer did, on the same weekend. We booked our room one week in advance and received a confirmation email with a confirmation number. Saturday on Labor Day Weekend, we arrived at the motel at about 4:30. When we tried to check in, we were told that they didn't have a reservation from us and they were sold out. The kid behind the counter didn't even want to see my confirmation email, didn't apologize, and was really rude and dismissive of the whole situation. I finally convinced him he should call a manager or owner to see if they could help. I am not sure who I talked to, but she was equally useless. She finally apologized after a few minutes, but by that time, we were so frustrated it didn't matter. She couldn't even refer us to another hotel in the area that might have rooms. When we had finally given up trying to get them to help us somehow, my boyfriend made some comments to the brat behind the counter about being disrespectful. At that point, he threatened to call the cops on us. We ended up riding down to Farmington to get a room. Not happy.
