Nice local place just blocks from downtown, easy walking. Clean and comfortable, although small. Hit tub was nice, but AC/heat system was antiquated and wasn't that comfortable. Price was good and they offer military rate, would stay again because I do like the small personal motels.

We spent one night in Salida on a roadtrip, and if not spending much time on the property I like to do a cheap, not-chain motel. The Woodland Motel had good reviews for being cute and clean, and that it was. However, I'm appalled that it cost $106. The TINY room was the true definition of bare-bones. Queen bed, folding... I booked this because of the Tripadvisor reviews. It was pet friendly which was a plus and the owners love dogs and supply dog bowls, beds and treats. Otherwise it's your basic motel. The downtown area of Salida is super cute with lots of little boutiques and it would have been fun to stay within walking distance of that area.... More

A group of us met up in Salida to do some hiking - we had 4 rooms. We didn't want to stay in "tourist central" (i.e. Hwy 50). Good: Easy access off Hwy 291. Quick drive / easy walk to downtown restaurants and shops. Not a soulless chain - had some quirky charm. Price is definitely right. Quiet (no real... More

I have never been to a motel before that offered dog bowls and beds! Plus dogs stay for free. The first night we stayed in a large room with two queen size beds, a full size refrigerator, stove, and microwave. The second night we moved to a smaller room with a microwave. The smaller room was almost half the price,... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a quick break from Denver in March 2013. The room was small, but it was everything you needed. The staff was friendly and the hot tub hit the spot. The hotel is close enough to town to walk, weather permitting.

The hotel is nice, the woman that checked us in and out was very pleasant, and it is within walking distance to downtown. Our room was very clean and the bed ( a small queen) was really comfy. Before making reservations I looked at the virtual tours of the rooms and read about them, but I was still surprised by... More

Nice place just across from the ball park. Clean hot tub; great value in that the rooms are larger than most motels. Ladies, just don't wash you makeup off with their white towels ;~) The very nice thing about this place is location, location, location. You can stroll into town from here with no sweat, so going out to eat... More

Great find. The price was great, the rooms nice and clean. The bed had a good mattress and was comfortable. We stayed one night but would defiantly stay there again. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Walking distance to town.
